We're already starting to see threads pop up asking about exploit, homebrew, flashcart and piracy possibilities on the Switch. Put simply:
  • We have no idea about the hardware or software on the Switch
  • Even if we did know, it took several years to break the Wii U and 3DS, so it's likely that we won't know about any exploits for the Switch for a similar timescale
There is absolutely no point posting threads asking what the possibilities will be for homebrew or piracy on the Switch. Any discussion of this is purely speculative and completely unhelpful in any endeavours to actually hack the console.

Please just be patient. It will happen when it happens.

Though I agree the speculation will likely not amount to anything, and the things that kneecapped homebrew this go around (there are options which are both cheaper and better than the consoles for achieving the sorts of things people used to do with them, all while being even more open) will likely be ramped up further unless happens in the meantime, we do know the class of CPU and GPU, we do know the button layout (processing is there, it is likely not going to be less than can reasonably be worked with so for my money it does swing back around to input methods).

For the CPU and GPU then much of that can be negated or augmented or otherwise altered pretty radically by software and governors and the like.

Isn't this obvious though? We just learned what the console is yesterday so of course we don't know how to hack it.

What will be the naming trend for Switch homebrew?

Wii : ii (ftpii, riivolution, etc.)
WiiU : U (AstUroid, Upaint, etc.)
Switch : ? (yeah, we don't need a trend, time to find proper homebrew names :P)
this guy has the right idea. :toot:

let's come up with names for homebrew and piracy tools, before they are out, so time isn't wasted later on.
hurry up guys.

How about "itch"? FTPich, USBich Loader, etc. :rofl2:

Those are exploit names, not homebrew.
The naming trend for 3DS is "3D"
