How can I check to see what firmware my Switch is on? I just recently got a gray joy-con Switch but I don't see any firmware information under system settings.

On my Switch, where it should say: "Current Version: #", it just says "System Update is ready"

I'm just curious to see if my Switch is at a low enough firmware to be hacked right now and if it is, is it worth hacking at the moment? I have an unopened Mario Odyssey so I'm debating between Homebrew or Odyssey at the moment.

I don’t know because I don’t own a switch, but you can try to put it in recovery mode, I think it shows the FW version there

being sarcastic doesn't translate over the internet. Deny the update, then go to settings and console informatiom and it will tell you your firmware. DONT BY ANY MEANS UPDATE! I think i then looked at a setting to not update. Im on the can right now but brb.

Ok I booted it into recovery mode and it says that's it's on version 3.0.2, so I guess it's not hackable at this time then?
Ooh sry.

I didn't update it, it came as version 3.0.2, well if I can't hack it right now, I guess I'll start playing Mario Odyssey then.

If I set the DNS to the 173.255.238.217 address (which I did), is it safe to use the Wifi? I wanted to created a nintendo profile so I could see my BoTW playtime, but not if it's going to risk updating on me..

It should be safe but you can't sign in to Nintendo account, play online, update games or use eShop because you're on an older version.

The micro SD on my Switch is 32 GB. I need a mSD with 20 GB free and im planing to use the switch one. Thing is, can i just copy all the data from my SD and paste it back if anythings happens? Would my saves and all that be ok?

I think even if you copy/paste the contents, you will still lose everything because the switch encrypts the SD card. Could someone verify this though? I could be completely wrong
