Yeah, sounds about right, I smell another Wii U waiting period repeat. It took five years for Wii U to be exploitable on all firmware, the same will happen with the Switch; expect there to be an exploit by 2023.

I would personally wait out to see what team X delivers. If they do as good a work as with the original xbox, and deliver a soldered and solderless method as they are promoting, 1.0/3.0/4.0+ none of it will make a difference. In the mean time just enjoy your switch games, their are plenty of other consoles to play emulators with. Certainly a great deal of progress though over the last few weeks, cant wait to see some solid N64 emulation on the switch , however back to the point . If you have no reason to update- dont update, if their are games you want to play above 3.0 just enjoy playing them don't go grey over it.
