That'd be cool, DS1 was pretty limited in terms of effective weapons to build around.
Uhh wut? Besides the obvious broken swords, pretty much every other weapon you can get is an effective enough weapon to beat the game. Even fist weapons make decent weapons, I just finished a playthrough using the caestus a week or so ago with no real issues.

Yeah but every build is mostly the same, pump STR+DEX+HP+STA. Magic is pretty useless in DS1, as are bows. The game is still a lot of fun, and in several ways the design is better than DS2/DS3, but just sayin'.

Uhh wut again? Have you even played the game much at all? Magic isn't even remotely useless, neither is faith or pyromancy for that matter, and if all you're doing is strength and dex builds that's your fault, there are plenty of other ways to play. Magic/enchanted weapons are some of the strongest in the game, and Divine and Chaos aren't far behind. There are tons of combinations in the game that are fully usable and fun to play.

Bows are totally useless though, except for cheesing some enemies.

Magic/fth/pyro are nowhere near as balanced in DS1 with your standard sword/greatsword builds as they are in DS2/3. They might not be completely useless in DS1, but pure spellcaster builds are suicide in a lot of the situations the game presents you. Throwing a couple enchants on your weapon doesn't really make you a spellcaster character.

What are you talking about?

Magic is so overpowered in DS1, PVE wise.

Bows aren't very good though.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

TBH 30fps dark souls is ok.

30fps vs 60fps is like cinematic vs game for me. I find 30fps really ok... and I'm a Pc gamer.. .what isn't okay is framerate drops so hopefully they make sure its locked @ 30

Uhh wut x3? Seriously, how much of DS1 have you even played? All three categories are extremely OP in singleplayer, though faith does lack a few offensive spells. You're a glass cannon, but only if you don't know what you're doing. Otherwise it's easily the easiest way to beat the game because of how OP they all are. You should really try and branch out when you play, cuz it sounds like you just stick with a couple cookie cutter builds and don't bother experimenting.

Really a lot of people talking about Dark Souls haven't played the game enough as they're talking rubbish.

Spellcasters are SO overpowered and crystal magic weapon + an int based weapon gives you a ridiculous damage output for melee too.

My first build was spellcaster and my only issue was with the last boss and the fact he was very fast so stopped me casting. Some bosses became childsplay as a spellcaster.

Also pyro is downright broken too.. give u know.. anyone can be a pyromancer in the game and not sacrifice any soul levels and gain access to some of the best spells in the game such as the one which made your poise xinfinity. Pyromancy might be THE most broken class actually given the spells break most boss battles if used smartly.

DS1 I haven't cleared as many times as DS2/DS3, but still what I'm saying stands. DS2/DS3 made spellcasting feel far less clunky, and that made it easier to specialize on that. DS1 you get any Black Knight weapon and you're good for the game, there's no reason to worry about slow/glitchy casting animations. Of course, if you don't care about optimal builds, it's anything goes, but still balance wasn't as good. Maybe the remaster will tweak/fix some stuff.

Spellcasting breaks most boss battles in Dark Souls. It makes early boss battles trivial where you're normally scared to get up and close given your low HP.

Late-game crystal magic weapon is incredible again.

What your saying doesn't stand at all. Your understanding of Dark Souls 1 seems to be incredibly poor.

You keep bringing up weapon enchants, which is not really spellcasting. You only need to put a few points into either fth or int for that to get a benefit on top of big str+dex.

You wouldn't get anywhere near the level of benefit of CMW in a strength based build compared to an INT 40 build w/say some form of int based weapon.

Also Homing soul Mass and Soul Arrows in DS1 means you basically don't need to get close to any boss. Its literally the safest means of beating most bosses.

tbh i dont know why im bothering as you said pyro was rubbish in DS 1 lol.

Again, not saying int or pyro caster is bad, just not as effective as quality builds in DS1. The power curve lets you beat bosses after early game with minimal effort, and you always stay more powerful throughout. After mid-game I don't think I died to any of the bosses once, and early game is just about reading attack patterns, doesn't matter what you use.

A big problem with anything ranged in DS1 was simply the lock-on range as well, hopefully that's improved in the remaster.

Any dark magic turns everything within the game into nothingness, hopefully they will balance those out. *cough* pursuers

Kinda bummed that its 60fps on every other platform and only 30 on switch.
I'll be getting it on PS4 first until I can see how the switch port plays (WWE2K18 port anyone?).
Also trophies ^__^
