Won't be any updates on their website until close to spring timeAny news lately about this?
My logic was that the 3DS had softmods thanks to having access to flash carts, so I was being hopeful. Instead of being pessimistic, be optimistic for a change.a soft mod version of a hard mod?
lmao
Gateway was basically a DRM cart, TX deals in modchips. I don't see the purpose really of having a hardware exploit only to use it as DRM for softwareMy logic was that the 3DS had softmods thanks to having access to flash carts, so I was being hopeful. That's not what I meant. I'm saying that we can learn more about the hardware to get to the point where we can hack it via softmods.Gateway was basically a DRM cart, TX deals in modchips. I don't see the purpose really of having a hardware exploit only to use it as DRM for software

I was using it as an example of how we got softmods on 3DS cause of flashcarts. I'm comparing it to whatever Xecuter is coming out with. Just being hopeful. If I'm wrong, then oh well. How do we know the Switch will even achieve the same level of hacking and exploits as the 3DS?

For someone who whines about wanting homebrew on 4.x on every thread you sure are acting like it'll never happen.I want there to be softmods via flashcarts as much as the next guy, but with so much news and so little to show for it, *sigh*...
Hey, we're getting homebrew way faster than 3DS and Wii U combined. It's insane!I want there to be softmods via flashcarts as much as the next guy, but with so much news and so little to show for it, *sigh*...

It was just announced today that there is a private userland exploit for 4.1.0 and below. But it won't be out until it's patched. So just hang in there @the_randomizer.For someone who whines about wanting homebrew on 4.x on every thread you sure are acting like it'll never happen.

It's all talked about in this thread and in the blog post linked there. (And in the Reswitched's Discord of course )But I'm on 4.0.2...wait huh?! Okay, I stand corrected, I am on 4.1.0 after all (as we have XBC2)...wait a second...! I'll be damned..

Also apparently SciresM has kernel up to 3.0.2. But has made it very clear that lower is absolutely better.
Sounds like things are looking up for you then if you don't care for kernelhax, just hang in there and wait for the bug to be patched friend. Can't do kernel access on my end, I'm afraid. I'm on 4.1.0, and I care more about homebrew (like emulators), than I am about EmuNAND, ROM loading, etc.

hardware will always have an upper hand on never devices since the security they employ make it hard to softmod, gone are the days of simple buffer overflow savegame exploits.
look at the Xbox 360, It will always be tethered to extra hardware. I like that Xecuter is working on a hardware solution since that helps to eliminate a lot of hassles that softmods have since softmods will always be dependent on the software being exploited.
