Not even a year has gone by and Nintendo has remaster 4 WiiU games. First of Mario Kart 8, then Pokken Tournament so I’m like ok that’s fine and now in this direct I was expecting virtual console games finally being announced but no! More Remastered shit. Tropical freeze and Hyrule Warriors. Like WTF?! We just got hyrule warriors not even 2 years ago (3ds) Now we are getting it again for the 3rd time? The only difference being is that you have 2 new skins and a minor upscale same with tropical freeze you only get funky kong in this version. I didn’t even last 2 minutes in this direct cuz it was straight up shit. Instead on focusing on remasters just port them to the switch via virtual console simple. You didn’t need a definitive version to a game that had so much dlc. Honestly Nintendo, we are on a new console, a console that has literally 4 new games lol. BOTW, Odyssey, Arms and splatoon 2. You need to get your shit together.

Hyrule Warriors is not developed by Nintendo.

Also you complain about Remastered because you want VC which are just old emulated ports? Hmmm...
The point is why remaster a game like that when you can just port it over as VC it would save a bunch of money for us who bought it once or twice

that would mean Nintendo has to make a Wii U emulator for the Switch, which it is not capable of. it would cost way too much time and money when it's better to port the games to run natively on the platform (which makes them look and perform better too!).

They still haven't re-released the ones that really matter for them.
Smash and Mario Maker would sell pretty darn well, but for some reason they prefer to rerelease Pokken instead.

I could care less about SSB and Maker, but even from a financial standpoint I can see how stupid that decision was, but whatever xD

Okay, so they decide to get the best selling games on wii u on the switch so "People who didn't buy the wii u and didn't have opportunity to play the games can" They didn't buy the game for "people who already played the game on wii u" Though they are supporting some with more content. I'm more disappointed at the fact is $60 rather than it being a port. But hey, you have your dislikes and so do others.

I'm more worried about the 3rd party ports, is almost as if they don't have any faith in the system cause they aren't producing new games, people saying "Testing the waters" Is either you in or out. NIntendo already told us they had secured support for development of games on switch by 3rd party, only to first see ports galore but then the actual games we would want to be buying (NEW TITLES EXCLUSIVES) are "currently in development" So once again, not all upset but concerned about how they approach this situation.

Unless they are developing their respective sequels, in which case, porting SSB and Mario Maker would have been a stupid decision (and kind of a backstab for those who purchase a port only for a sequel to be released later).

It's fine, it's just padding the release schedule until more first party and big third party games can launch. I would much rather prefer this than have the first/third party droughts the Wii U, and really all other consoles, face/faced. Not many people bought the Wii U, and the Switch has already sold more than the Wii U, so at least some people will be happy to get to play these games. Plus, you can take 'em with you wherever you go. It's not like these ports are affecting the release of first party games. If they're just a bonus to everything else being released, why complain? I think it's easier to accept once it's put in perspective.

them remastering so many wiiu games is actually a great business strategy on their part considering how poorly the wiiu sold alot of people missed out on alot of really great games and since the switch is selling so well they can bring back all these games make them better and make bank

The downside of remasters is that the Wii u versions drop in value from a collecting standpoint. An example would be the bayonetta 2 disc special edition being dropped in price since the bayonetta remaster anouncement.

Fuck no. As long as they're making new games, who gives a fucking shit? Every other systems' company have been doing it for a long time, as well. The bias in here is fucking ridiculous.

I'm stoked for my Hyrule Warriors Definitive Edition. Bought it on the Wii U, and N3DS, will GLADLY rebuy it on the Switch.

GTFO kid. And chill the fuck out.

I need to chill now. This fucking moronic thread has me pissin'.

I don't like seeing Wii U games remastered because I already own the games on the Wii U. But remastering games that most Switch owners didn't get to play makes good business sense.

I'm not re-buying Bayonetta, Pokken or Tropical Freeze because I played them until I was sick of them. I did re-buy Mario Kart and will re-buy Sm4sh when its inevitably announced.

But one of my favourite Wii U games Colour Splash will probably remain a Wii U exclusive.
