I kind of agree with @Sonic Angel Knight . It's pretty clear that third parties don't have faith in the Switch just yet, and you can't really blame them. They're generally not making anything new for it. I'm pretty happy about Atlus making SMT V for the Switch.
I dunno for sure, is just my observation. I understand nintendo doing it but as for 3rd parties is just seem to me like they aren't fully on board until they start making a brand new game rather than 2012 ports of old ones. This and the rumors of "Buy this game or we don't make new ones" seem very offensive. I mean if they really wanted to test waters with ports then what was nintendo upfront about the support from developers? It makes them look a bit suspicious. Of course is just my opinion.

To me, most of the games could have existed on the wii u but just didn't bother. Had it did, maybe perhaps help sales of the system. I know that isn't only to blame, nintendo marketing of the console wasn't very good, no one wasn't even sure what the wii u was when they announced it, and all we saw was a tablet, they could have tried a bit better. It had potential, especially if they made accessory to play 3DS games on wii u in upscaled resolution, would have been a good idea also better for recording it for youtube videos. They just focused too much on 3DS cause it was more popular, and thought they didn't need those extra 3rd party games to buffer their release dates of the first party titles.

i dont think they should stop.

mainly because there are tons of people out there who never bought the WiiU in the first place.

so these remasters all make sense.
a friend of mine for instance is one that never owned a WiiU , he owns a switch now and he is hyped about all these remasters because they are games he never played and he knows they are remasters, and he also wants a Mario Maker on the switch.

so for us WiiU owners the remasters may not be much, but even i bought MK8 again, deluxe is not half bad.
the game is super fun.

i think nintendo knows how to make money.
if they were to remaster SSB on the switch, i would buy it ,even if it is going to be the same game.

The problem is the more hardcore fans purchased a Wii U, which on paper failed, however was a nice console in my opinion and had great Nintendo exclusives that can be played locally with 4 players around the TV. In addition the Wii U was a great from the point of view as one console could play the majority of games from Nintendo's entire back catalog when hacked for homebrew.

I can see why Nintendo is re-releasing these games on the Switch which is fine, it makes sense. That said they do need to keep the more hardcore fans interested who invested in to the Wii U and bring more fresh new content to the Switch.

its still a remaster and its still a wiiu game regardless of same day release
A remaster means new content/some new textures. Your argument is baseless. You ever seen a game come out on 3 platforms on the same day? They call those multi-platform games.

I am beginning to think that Nintendo is out of original ideas. There has never been a good Zelda since Majora's Mask, the Wind Waker could have been nearly perfect if they put more dungeons in it and hadn't rushed it. If they would release an updated version of the Wind Waker and called it the critical version (with eight extra large added dungeons) i'd be all over it.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

I mean all those ports are a cry of creative defeat.

...I am not continuing this argument.

its like seeing an old washed up 20yr old californian put on a pair of giant fake titties and call them enhancements to distract everyone from the wicked crows feet and saggy purple bags under the eyes. thats the nintendo switch right now.

Wii U had some good and great games but the system sold crap so not a lot of people played them.

These Wii U ports to Switch are NEW games to a majority of the Switch owners.

So I have no problem Nintendo bolstering the Switch library with great games, even if I’ve played some of them before.

There’s a Nintendo Fan Paradox happening - they don’t want ports/remakes but they do what Virtual Console...
Seen it with Wii U too. They do t want ports of Wii games but anything GC and older is fine. I bet people would be fine with Wii ports on Switch.

I think I like some ports, cause it shows how popular a game is to exist even after is long overdue. Dark souls on switch, never played or had interest but I might cause it seem like is favored. So I may consider it. But is off putting if is $60 if especially if is over 5 years old and know it is. The world ends with you seem okay, if it doesn't work on touch controls and i can use a standard controller, then sure give it to me. Why not do Kingdom hearts NDS games port too. If they do the same thing with mario galaxy where I can play with standard controls then sure I'll buy, now that the games is on system without gimmicks. :)
