Hey Guys So I was thinking recently, "Hey, I wish I could Play Burnout 3: Takedown on my Hacked PSP" so I came to you guys to help me discuss hardware and limitations to see if this is possible. Anyways, feel free to comment to help me break this idea down.

Nope. PS2 is simply not possible on PSP.
Despite the potentially similar games running on both machines, it would require a complete port and rewrite of a PS2 game to run on PSP and vice versa.
Emulation is also out of question, the console doesn't have enough power for it.

There is a reason Spectral Souls II on PSP had loads and loads of loading: Idea Factory actually tried to punch a PS2 game into a PSP UMD.

End result: there were loading times for DIALOGUE LINES.

That was mainly due to terrible game optimization for PSP, not just because it was a PS2 game.

Nobody said anything about emulation. I'm assuming that OP's logic is coming from the fact that the PSP can be clocked to 333 MHz, and the PS2 clocks in at roughly 300 (294 and 299, depending on model), and because it can natively run PSX games. I've seen this exact same topic a decade ago.

its just dissapointing that they never ported GTA San Andreas to the PSP. since some other gta games like liberty city stories were ported, and aside from some framedrops they run perfectly.

it would just be awesome to play GTASA on a handheld. yeah i know its for android now too. but i just like the tactility of physical buttons and touch controls are garbage for gaming. bringing a bluetooth controller is also just meh

Wouldn't the Vita be a better candidate for this? The PSP is just too damn weak, where-as the Vita has better storage options and is basically a Playstation 2.7 portable.

I have no idea what parts the Vita has inside compared to a PS2, but I thought the Vita went with a MIPS architecture, like the PSP and PS2 did. I'm probably wrong though. If Sony ever makes "PS2 Classics" for the Vita, then we'll probably have it made.

You might like the new GPD XD+ then.

GTA: San Andreas should run fantastically on it.

Liberty City Stories and Vice City Stories started as PSP games and were ported to PS2, though. Not the other way around. Also, they don't run great on the PS2, either, honestly.

You are 14 years old. I understand but you need to research on google first about PS2. PS2 is way more powerful than a PSP. PSVita is powerful than PSP but PS2 on PSVita is also not possible either.
