  • I am never buying a Samsung phone ever again. Guess it's back to iPhone for me, but their screens are freaking puny.

    Why not?

They are closing their only (crappy) service center near my house. The next nearest one is at Orchard - same place for iPhone exchanges - which takes about 1 hour to reach. Plus I have to drop my phone for a couple of days without any spare to use.

And that horrible charger experience pretty much makes it the final straw.
I hate to say this, but my note 3 is giving me quite a bit of problems. Just today the charger malfunctioned for no reason...

Nope. I disassembled the plug parts and fixed it back. Tried on other devices but it still won't charge. Really pissed. Even my S2 charger still works today but the note one broke so soon...

I used Mega Lucario. Got it up to Lv72. Used poison jab and OHKO.
I have added your friend code. How are you enjoying X?

Haha so far so good. I'm really slow though, because I'm only playing it when I'm free. I'll add you back once I have some spare time with my 3DS. :)
No regrets buying the galaxy note 3 thou the screen is a little too big to my liking, but it makes my iPhone 5 look like a midget. Hahaha.
Placed a micro SIM into the GS2 mini SIM slot with no adaptor. Holy crap it actually worked!

There's no reason why it shouldn't - the only difference is the form-factor. It may slide around a bit so you should try and craft your own adapter of sorts. Just take a piece of plastic and make a Mini SIM-shaped cutout with a hole for your Micro SIM and you should be good to go.

Haha. I got the note so I went to a store to get the SIM cut. She did a horrible job and it won't fit into any adaptor, so I was quite worried.
iOS 7 made my iPhone so much more usable. Now I can safely call it a smartphone. iOS 6 is an abomination that I'll never forget.
Should I get an iPhone 5s or Note 3... iOS apps would serve me better but 4" is so darn small. Same price btw.

If you must get a phone and the iOS apps suit you better, go for iPhone. If you don't need a phone, go for the iPad since you get the same apps but with a bigger screen.

I prefer a device that can do all - the Note fits this category perfectly. However iOS apps (particularly keynote, pages and iMovie) are more tailored to my needs. Seriously undecided.

    @Maximumbeans, I'm doing alright, thanks.

That must be rough. Productive I'm sure but hard to balance with daily life

  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Maximumbeans, Indeed. I've been working on getting this Infecutus chip to work on my PS2. But after soldering, I realised that a plastic piece was missing from the power ribbon cable to the power and eject buttons.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Now I could go with soldering the contacts from the cable to the connector on the mobo, but doesn't sound like a good permanent solution.
  • Maximumbeans @ Maximumbeans:
Man, that's beyond my brain  I'm no good with hardware for now. I'd like to get into hardmods in future though
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Maximumbeans, Maybe start practice soldering. Get a cheap-ass soldering iron and follow some good YouTube tutorials.

  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Least my experience has gotten better than over a decade ago. My iron would constantly bump into components and break them.
  • Maximumbeans @ Maximumbeans:
Sounds good. I actually did soldering but like 16 years ago for school so uuuuh probably rusty haha
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Maximumbeans, Same here. I did soldering at school from a teacher who I honestly liked since he had plenty of good electronics experience.

It was like all clear and fancy. Tbf I'm not too experienced with chess, but would like to learn someday.
