Delta emulator now available on the App Store for iOS

To be fair Ignited also does have a bunch of Pro features for those happy to pay, but the base functionality is still all there (and includes iPad support). I think the dev is planning to have a Pro subscription when it reaches the App Store, with the option of a one time fee for those that...

Delta emulator now available on the App Store for iOS

Eh, it's hard to justify when Ignited just works out of the box: I do think Delta's a great emulator, but Ignited has just taken everything that was good and made it better. I'm happy to just keep sideloading it for now and hold out for its approval (hopefully soon!).

Baffling there's no iPad support. I'm sure there's a version of Delta that supports it.

The first retro emulator hits Apple's App Store, but you should probably avoid it

It's great to see it, but I'm still hopeful for Ignited. iPad support is kinda a big point for me, and I know Delta does support it because I've used it on my iPad Mini before... No idea why the App Store version doesn't have it. If nothing else Delta will hopefully give others confidence to...

Smoking Ban Bill (UK) Passes First Hurdle

I do agree with a lot of this based on what I've seen myself. My dad is probably the best example I can think of. He smoked for 20+ years and one day we noticed he'd just stopped. It turns out he hadn't smoked for a few weeks at that point, and we only noticed when we spotted he wasn't going out...

Things you recently bought or got

Well it's a pretty great mail day for me! After being told last month that there would be a delay and that it'd get to me sometime mid-April, I had heard nothing from ASUS. Until this showed up today with zero shipping confirmation: It is every bit as cool as I hoped it would be. On a lesser...

Smoking Ban Bill (UK) Passes First Hurdle

To be honest, it really doesn't seem like an awful way to approach the problem. Raising the legal age every year means that people that are currently addicted aren't suddenly forced to go cold turkey, and makes it far less accessible for younger people to get into it. It's not going to make...

Not sure about App Store ones, but I know it’s an issue with sideloaded ones at least. If you want JIT on a sideloaded app you need to connect it to a PC every time you want it enabled iirc.

Seems like it is their emulator: https://github.com/tsalvo/nes-emu-ios Interesting to see that it did cost 99p earlier today but is now free though. Wonder if some part of the code didn't allow them to charge for it? Either way, no ads, no tracking, it seems solid on paper.

The first retro emulator hits Apple's App Store, but you should probably avoid it

Seems like we have our first legitimate emulator! https://apps.apple.com/us/app/bimmy-nes-emulator/id1528825236 I think this should cement that Apple is fine with emulation, and that the issue was in the sketchy nature of the copycat code. Seems like Ignited is still going through appeals...

I think the above pretty much sums me up too. I use the two notched home row keys to get my bearings, and then just kinda fly free with whatever feels natural lol

Good stuff! I can't touch type myself but I can type without looking at the keys. Touch typing and like, "proper typing" just feel so foreign and static to me.

I've had access to things removed by Apple before to be fair. These guys seem to say Apple confirmed it was them, but obviously take it with a pinch of salt as there's no source given: https://www.macrumors.com/2024/04/15/apple-removes-igba-from-app-store/

The first retro emulator hits Apple's App Store, but you should probably avoid it

Well that didn't take long, iGBA is no longer accessible on the App Store. No concrete word as to why it might be at the moment, but there is some speculation about GBA4iOS's developer (and by extension Delta's developer) having quite recently updated the license of GBA4iOS to say that written...

I've clipped them onto my iPhone 13 Mini and Pro Max, as well as my iPad Mini 6. The clamps work pretty well even with cases on if you're a little careful with the positioning (I imagine you can bend the plastic of the case if you're a bit too aggressive and your case has a lip like mine do)...
