Remember: I'm using an Action Replay DSi with a Nintendo DSi. No DS involved.
When I launch ARDSi, it shows the splash screen/Datel logo, then loads the menu. For a split-second I can see a message saying something like "Loading Codes: 0".
But right after that a message box appears and says: "An error has occurred. Please turn off your DSi and try again."
Everywhere I look, they all say to do a "Software reset". The DSi code manager software can detect the device fine, (yes, without being in my DSi) but when I do a software reset(the magical always-working fix), it shows "Updating your Action Replay DS" for a couple minutes then shows an equally depressing error message: "An error occurred whilst reseting your Action Replay Device. Please reinsert the device and try again."
I tried adding codes and then committing the changes, but the same error happened.
I found a sort of debug-test thing where you launch Action Replay DSi and immediately hold L+R A+B and the screen starts flashing colors in two rectangular boxes on the top screen, then it stops and some data shows up on the lower screen with this information:
"Hardware Version: 1.8 - Software Version: 0x313 - Read retries: 4 - Flash ID's: 1cf6 / 1cf6 - SD Sectors: [blank] - FIRST CHECKSUM 85C68C60 - FLASH CHECKSUM 85C68C60".
I also found that doing something similar, except this time holding L+R A+B+X+Y brings you to a black screen with a message box in the top-screen center saying: "IS IT OK TO ERASE ALL DATA?" with a Yes and No button. I selected Yes, asked me if I'm sure, I selected Yes again, displayed a message saying: "ERASING DATA. DO NOT POWER OFF." and then starts a regular launch of Action Replay DSi, still with the error.
None of these made any difference.
But it's probably better that it's able to boot up at all instead of some red screen of death(which is ironically the only thing the Software Reset even fixes).
Please give me any ideas. Even your suspicions.
