Hi everyone,

When setting up/using a Wii, do you have to maintain a minimum distance from the sensor bar for the Wiimote to work?

EDIT: I'm just gonna go with Selim873's answer until I can actually verify it.

Solution
THESE MEASUREMENTS ARE BASED ON WHERE THE WII REMOTE IS, NOT YOUR STANDING POSITION.

Minimum (from my experience); Merely 2.5 feet, around 76 centimeters

Recommended distance; 6 feet, around 1.8 meters

Maximum; Depends on the sensitivity level that's set. Max sensitivity can reach pretty far, but other sources of InfraRed light (like candles) can interfere.
---
The metric measurements should be pretty close to the U.S./British (Not sure) Imperial measurements, which is what I'm used to. I'm just trying to get this answered internationally to those who also have the same question.

Usually I find that I have to stay at least a couple of feet away in order for it to work. It depends on your sensitivity setting.
