Gaming On a non-modified (new) 3DS XL can you install games on a 64 GB microSDHC?

I've read this can be done as long as the card is formatted in fat32 however I couldn't find reference if they were using a modded or un-modded console. If someone is using a 3DS XL with a 64 GB card let me know. My GF is against hacking so she wouldn't be interested in a bigger SD card if it required so.

EDIT: She will be installing games from the eShop channel.
 
Solution
To get an 64GB Sd card working with a 3ds format the SD card to Fat32 as the 3ds doesn't take anything other than Fat32. On Windows use an external program (should be able to find with a simple search). Back Up any files you want off the SD card first.
