So, because the 10+ year old piece of shit I'm typing on is no longer capable of completing schoolwork in record time, my dad wants to get me a new laptop to last me through High School. I'm trying to go for something with a bit of power, but preferably under $1k in USD. Right now, I've been looking at computers with core i7s and NVIDIA graphics chips. I also may want to play games at a hobbyist level, so I'm also looking for something with preferable 2.5+ Ghz of processing power, 8GBs of RAM or more, and a dedicated graphics card.
