PLEASE HELP, NOSTALGIA ALERT! How to soft mod a PS2 using only flash drives.

Hi, I am a hardcore nostalgic dude and I have a PS2 and want to play on it, but it does no longer read disc's. So I need it to be softmoded to be able to somehow use it. The question is, is there any method to softmod PS2 without the cheating cd or stuff, using only flashdrive or multiple ones?

I think you'll need a memory card in order to flash it and load games off a Hard drive but im not sure

Yeah you need an Action Replay in order to access Homebrew and to play off an Hard drive.

You could try playing ps2 games on an Emulator. My old pc wasnt strong but it could play ps2 games pretty decent so yeah try out PCSX2

Yeah it's not possible bud. You can do so with a ps2 to p3s memory card adaptor from Sony an official 8mb memory card and an mc boot capable machine. Beyond that there are the cheat disc methods and such but you will need on of the disc based hack to install freemc boot otherwise.

You can buy a MemoryCard with freemcboot installed or ask a person to install it for you

Sure you can. I´m using a 128MB MemoryCard.

Just buy a pre-modded memory card from the internet they should be around 15 euro (or what your currency is)

Because memory card from other companies always break or wont work after some time. I would install the data on an original memory card and the game data on a bigger one.

And if I use someones PS2 to install the program on MY memory card, is it gonna affect that someones PS2 in any way ?

I can't buy it online, the only way is to buy It from like other continents or stuff, and I live in Czech Republic. Atleast, I never saw anyone to sell moded ps2 MC's in europe

It should be no problem if you buy it from ebay. I live in Germany and i bought mine from another continent as well.
No it wont affect your ps2 because you are just going to boot it from it, but remember you are going to need an Action Replay or a Game that supports the exploit

I modded my ps2 memory card with the swap disc trick. There is also a way to do it with a pc and a sony brand ps2 memory card reader.
