For the past few days I've been trying to understand how the translation thing works when it comes to hex editors and so on. All I can say is that nothing makes sense,especially the "guide" from the "Get started" on romhacking. They keep talking about translation and how to do it but lack in way too many things that need explanation!!!(not to mention the fact that they just skip the most important argument,pointers!)
Right now I'm trying to bypass the string length's limitation but couldn't find a decent explanation about that. Do I have to use research value so that I can make a table later?! Or do I have to find the font used? If so,then where is the font located(I mean it's within a file,or eachmfile has it's own font?! ) ?
Since the game files are UTF16 is it possible to change it into UTF8 or do I have to change that inside eboot.bin somehow?! Sorry for my questions but whenever and whoever I try to ask seems quite "busy".
