Hi,

Modded my wii back in 2009 and had performed the odd cIOS/WAD installs to get certain game backups working on USB Loader GX and other aspects of the wii working.

Flash forward to 2015:

After a several year hiatus from using the wii, I dusted it off to try and play some of the newer Just Dance games. The Internet said I needed to install cIOS 250 to get the games working, so I did. At least I thought I did (er tried).

Long story short, I don't think I know what I'm doing. I tried installing the required cIOS, but somewhere along the process USB Loader GX stopped locating the External HDD used to play all the games I owned previously. When I turn it on it gives me the option to use either cIOS222 or cIOS249 but when I select cIOS249 it can't locate the drive. If i use cIOS222 no games load. At least not the ones I play (wii sports resort).

Here's my specs:

Region: NTSC-U
System Menu 4.1U (v449)

Drive date: 05.26.2006
Homebrew Channel 1.1.0 running on IOS61

Hollywood v0x11

Is this a mess?

I need help with two things:

First, it looks like I have cIOS250 installed, but USB Loader GX wouldn't give me the option to select it when I went into gameload settings. I've read I need cIOS236 installed, but what's that all about.. (I'm really a novice with a bit of experience googling issues and strictly folllowing guides).

Second, how to I get my USB Loader GX back to the working state of before.

Thanks for any help!

Why the random (stupid?) suggestion ? downgrading is not helpful, he already is using old enough hacks and tools, no need to go back even further.
if you are trolling, please don't.

the answer:
Your cIOS are old (d2x v6)
You can update the cIOS d2x to at least v8, or at best v10 r52 (do not install v10-alt r53, latest is not better!).

Update your USBLoaderGX version. at this time, latest is r1260

And yes, your system memory is messed up.
You probably will want to fix it. Do not use PumpMyWii (that's what caused your mess), and do not follow random tutorial or guide or other user's info without confirmation that it's up to date. reading and following OLD information is dangerous.
