Hi Guys!
You guys might think that I'm a noob being interested in the problems with a "WII" while the rest of the world are getting tired of the "WII U" and are getting ready for the "NX", but I really need a lot of help. This question might be a little long, but please be patient with me because I'd love ALL the Help I could get to retrieve those beautiful days of fun back.

My dad bought me a Wii like four years ago and it was modded with all kinds of amazing games until he one day discarded it, anyway my point is that I finally got to get another Wii which is not modded but I still have the same hard drive that I used years ago. So after I downloaded The Homebrew Channel I went into it but have not found that option to enter the HD through the HBC, I have no Idea why it had not recognized it despite it have both the ac adapter and the USB cord that connects the Wii and the HD. and another problem is that the HD would light up a small blue light once it was working... but that's exactly the problem here, Once I'd put the AC adapter into the HD It would flash that blue light and turn off in a split second. And I've noticed that once I've put in the AC adapter I'd notice that something inside starts spinning but then stops after two seconds.

Is there any way of getting this poor HD back to speed?

Thanks, Wuligi1

Once you have the Homebrew channel, you also install a USB loader, which you can launch from the HBC. I did that stuff years ago, so my memory is not fresh, but try Configurable USB loader (CFG USB loader) or USB loader GX. You need cIOSs to run the USB loaders. You should have them installed if you followed a proper guide to hack your Wii. Also worthy of mention... check to see if your hard disk is wbfs formatted or FAT32 with .wbfs files. The second option is the best. Read the guides which are still available in the Wii section.

Oh and I forgot to mention the Info for the HD! The Hard drive is a "Western Digital Model WD5000H1U-00" and the HBC's version is 1.1.2 IOS58. Oh umm, I'm not familiar with modding so... What are FAT32, WBFS, USB Loaders, and cIOSs?

As I was saying, Read the guides which are still available in the Wii section. But short answer, get Modmii, run it, and follow what it tells you to do. You'll be running backups in no time.
