No, im not being cocky and saying that my computer can emulate anything, i just need to know a genuine list of its capabilities, thats all.

CPU:
Intel® Core™ i7-2920XM (2.50GHz, 8MB L3, 1600MHz FSB, 55W) (quad core)

RAM:
8gb RAM, ddr3

Graphics card:
NVIDIA® QUADRO® 1000M (2gb)

i know i can most definitley play psx, just unsure about later consoles like ps2, 3ds/ wiiu are definitley a stretch

I have a somewhat similar CPU, it's an i7-3630qm (so slightly newer but not enough to make a big difference in performance)
With an AMD Radeon HD7970M.
It runs pretty much everything I throw at it, Dolphin at 3x native res (1920x1584) is no problem even with all sorts of shaders enabled through DolphinFX (FXAA, Bloom, Tonemapping, Celshading...), PCSX2 runs similarly well although I find PS2 emulation to be more problematic than GC/Wii in general.
Not sure how powerful the Quadro 1000M is, I seem to remember it's pretty weak for gaming, so you may have to make do with a lower internal resolution and without all the fancy effects but it should run anything up to PS2/Wii well.

One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I wonder if I could recommend that to some emulation devs that perhaps the sound could use some smoothing out to simulate those old TVs
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way

Just give it a try, but honestly if you have a 3DS you can play DS games without a card just off the internal SD card
