    Hacking [Tool] Joy-Con Toolkit

Well you are supposed to press refresh and also change the spi backup. Anyway you can't brick them with the toolkit in any way, even if you write zeroes to SPI. So what you need to do is to remove both devices from Windows Settings. Only then you will be able to re-pair it. Press SYNC for 2...

Hacking [RCM Payload] Hekate - CTCaer mod

No documentation other than explaining how it works and point you to the correct places. But no time to do that today. Also have in mind, because of some specific limitations, the current limit for partition size is 2GB. This may change in the future though, because I have something in mind on...

Yes it is possible to do that. You can have up to 4 sd card volumes (MBR constraints). fatfs can be configured to identify these and access them with your label of your choosing. For example: `sd2:/bootloader/` or `cfwfiles:/bootloader/` that will both point to let's say 2nd partition. Currently...

Hacking [RCM Payload] Hekate - CTCaer mod

I would go with the more expensive if money is not a problem. The thing about sd cards is that they straight up lie to you about the speeds. The numbers you see on the packages are a marketing thing. The nands inside sd cards are not a single chip in most cards. Especially in sandisk ones...

Hacking [RCM Payload] Hekate - CTCaer mod

You can even use a UHS-II card, but it will capped at UHS-I speeds. (UHS-X is the bus type. U# is the UHS speed grade). Switch in HOS is capable of 100MB/s (~200MHz clock). So you can get max perf with a U3/A2/V90, UHS-I or UHS-II. V90 is not supported as a special mode, but this mark makes...

Hacking [FatFS] Error: NOFAT Failed to mount SD card (FATFS Error 13). Make sure that a FAT partition exists

You can try, but doubt it will work. As per spec, UHS bus is not compatible with 1 bit data bus. On the other hand, after testing that, try to also kill low voltage high speed (UHS). https://github.com/CTCaer/hekate/blob/master/bootloader/storage/sdmmc.c#L623 if (cond & SD_ROCR_S18A &&...

The chip is the same. Not the board and pinout cfg. Plus any tweaks. If only chip would matter, we would have L4T in switch since ever. So no. There's no "one fit all" solution. Neither I have the time to invest on finding what the differences are.

I also have that and I update my modchip. But no I can't do that. It's a pain to maintain every single one. Best scenario is to learn how you can create these images, after which you can just run a script and create a new image.

These addresses are not over-writable by normal SPI cmd. Your offsets are the firmware. Color info only resides in x6000 bank. As for generally fixing this, I don't have time to spare for this project currently. I also don't own a Pro controller. So I'll have to convert a joycon to a Pro...

You probably updated while in CFW. Atmo has protection for that and your autorcm was not lost. And that's why you still have 8 fuses. Or you had the jig plugged in and you were holding VOL UP while the install finished. Entered rcm and re enabled autorcm

They seem normal. The capacity now/full/design is normal to be like this, because you removed the battery and haven't booted into HOS to restore them. As for charging I have a special hekate that restores the battery stat regs to a pristine condition backup. If I can find it I can send it to...

Hacking eMMC error - dead internal memory

Well there were reports of strange outlets killing switches or emmcs. Yeah send a battery info. As for the pcb there, such little scratches ain't gonna kill the traces. You can try to install that on another switch if it's possible and check if it works. If it doesn't, replacement pcbs with the...

  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Maximumbeans, Indeed. I've been working on getting this Infecutus chip to work on my PS2. But after soldering, I realised that a plastic piece was missing from the power ribbon cable to the power and eject buttons.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Now I could go with soldering the contacts from the cable to the connector on the mobo, but doesn't sound like a good permanent solution.
  • Maximumbeans @ Maximumbeans:
Man, that's beyond my brain  I'm no good with hardware for now. I'd like to get into hardmods in future though
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Maximumbeans, Maybe start practice soldering. Get a cheap-ass soldering iron and follow some good YouTube tutorials.

Least my experience has gotten better than over a decade ago. My iron would constantly bump into components and break them.

Sounds good. I actually did soldering but like 16 years ago for school so uuuuh probably rusty haha
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Maximumbeans, Same here. I did soldering at school from a teacher who I honestly liked since he had plenty of good electronics experience.
