Hardware EZFlash V variants, what are the differences?

Well, we all should know that before the EZFlash Parallel, there was the EZFlash V, but what I just learned is that it had later variants: the V+, the old Vi and the new Vi (705/805). What are the differences between those? All I know, according to flashcard-archive, is that up to old Vi, it...

Homebrew [DS(i)/3DS] TWiLight Menu++ - GUI for DS(i) games, and DS(i) Menu replacement

My guess is that the problem is the ROM itself. Did you try redownloading it from a different source?

Old bloke from UK is stuck.

Hey, if you're still there, follow malekmaroc7's link. That's the kernel you should use. By the way, that's an interesting packaging and label you got for your flashcart. Where I live, usually flashcarts with the www.r4isdhc.com.cn label are obtainable instead. Where did you find this?

Hacking Transferring all of Mii Plaza's data from one hacked 3DS to another

Update: I found this thread about restoring the Activity Log to another 3DS, complete with the game icons, and how it was achieved. Unfortunately the instructions were not very clear, something about using Godmode9 and CMAC fixing. Can somebody explain how I can make this work to finally make...

Hacking Transferring all of Mii Plaza's data from one hacked 3DS to another

Hello, I'm currently trying to transfer all of the StreetPass Mii Plaza data from my hacked New 3DS to my recently hacked New 3DS LL, and I read here that I have to back up the system save, the extdata, and the BOSS data. So I did that to restore it to the LL system (I used JKSV), and it worked...

Homebrew Guide: Fix for random eShop games crashing after 3DS Region Change mod (CTRTransfer)

Did you manage to find a solution to that problem, especially now that the eShop closed down?

Hacking One step skipped during region change?

Hello, I just changed the region of my Japanese 3DS LL successfully by following the online guide, but there's something that didn't seem right to me: At Section V, number 6, the final substeps said "Press (A) to confirm" and "Press (B) to decline installing tickets from CDN." The first part I...

Hacking Mario & Luigi games on hacked Japanese New 3DS

At first I didn't plan to, but after experiencing this, as well as always having to use Google Translate to translate all the Japanese text that I don't understand, I think I'm going to change the region of my system now.

Hacking Mario & Luigi games on hacked Japanese New 3DS

Hello, so I finally got my own Japanese New 3DS LL, and I installed CFW on it. After installing several games on it, I noticed that the Mario & Luigi RPG games, all USA region, don't display any banners, while the other games do. Is it because of the region they were created for, and they don't...

    Mysterious AliExpress R4

Your cart is compatible with YSMenu. You have the option to use the original kernel (https://flashcard-archive.ds-homebrew.com/r4i-gold.com/old/r4i-gold.com_Gold_3DS_RTS.zip), or YSMenu which has better compatibility. Just download the latest version from RetroGameFan, and copy the contents from...

Hacking Hardware Found a supercard dstwo+

Technicmaster0 is wrong. I ordered that card there, and it uses the Ace3DS+ kernel, which is more compatible (don't know about Pokémon hacks, though). Look at the address in the card. It says "www.r4isdhc.com.cn", which should be enough of an indicator that it's not a timebomb clone. And...

Anyone familiar with the kernel/firmware for this flash cart?

Since this seems to be based on Acekard hardware, the best kernel you can use for it is BL2CK. Download the kernel from here.

Nintendo to air Super Mario Bros. Wonder Direct later this week

With the type of unnecessary response that you gave to someone who just expressed an opinion about not having the same interest as you do, the real question is: Are you?

Hacking Homebrew Ntrboot_flasher's flashing problems with Acekard 2i and clones

I think several here might know about ntrboot_flasher's problem with Acekard and clones, that in some flashcarts it tends to be stuck at a certain percent and never completes flashing a bootrom backup. I tried to use it to unbrick an R4i Ultra after Decrypt9 deleted the bootrom at a failed...

    Flashcart Kernel Upgrade issue

I am not alone in this one. I also tried to do the same with the R4i Ultra that I just got, and still getting stuck at 12% and 25% respectively. It looks like there's compatibility problem with certain Acekard chips, and the frustrating part is that ntrboot_flasher stopped getting updated since...

also gonna install twilight menu in my r4 flashcard
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I wonder if I could recommend that to some emulation devs that perhaps the sound could use some smoothing out to simulate those old TVs
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way

  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
It's old but it's the best firmware out for DS stuff
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
it says it only works for the original R4, R4i Gold (r4ids.cn), R4iDSN (r4idsn.com) and Acekard R.P.G.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    nvm it does support mine
