use a single external hard drive with a Y cable for a better connection with the Wii U and format it in Wii U format, and you can put Wii U and Wii games on it (WiiVC Injector Script (GC/Wii/Homebrew Support) on this same disk.

Recommend==> use "wii backup manager" to manage your games with the external hard drive.
do not do ==> a simple copy and paste of your games on the DDE can corrupt the entire DDE.
