The point isn't whether it's some god damn zip file. The POINT is with the added metadata it adds a safety layer. It simply tells the application about the file, the application then compares it to your console's info and then uses it (if it's safe).It's a zip (or some kind of archive) with some metadata. It's still a zip at heart. I've looked at it and I don't consider it novel enough to not call it a zip, but that's just me splitting hairs.
