lol this took way longer than I thought it would, shows how much I know about dog anatomy :/
(a little over an hour including some forum lurking)

Completely threw myself in the dark with this one. Well at least I'm starting to get it now.

Hmm... might restart, 2nd take should be better.

Going to be fun to add lighting during the painting process, this is the first boss in CV:CotM so the left side will be full of flames and the right side will be illuminated by the moon, should be quite dramatic if I succeed. :O

Homika from Black and White 2. I might add a Koffing later, I forgot. ;-;

I don't know if this non reference using thing is for me, haha ^^
I did some of this in front of my computer using an image online, and some waiting in a car from memory. Usually I have an image filling the top screen only to look at and compare line distances and stuff. It came out kind of derpy. I'll try to get used to it though for that sweet non-reference section glory. [;<

Star whoring FTW!
I know what you mean, I used to do the same thing. I tend to snap a few pics online with my iPhone and then use the phone pics for references. I stead of straight up copying a pic from the Internet now, I take multiple pics and try to use them to form my drawing. It helps me learn how to draw it originally. Personally I hope it's making me better~

Rough draft of current project~

One thing ive noticed about myself compared to others is lack of pre drawing. I cant tell if itll help more if I do it or not, i usually just keep erasing/undoing lines and redoing them until they look right instead of making guide lines on a separate layer~
EDIT: The entire finished drawing will be a chase of a thief through the artisan homeworld~
When you watch the playback you can see my thief but the angle and way it looked was bugging me so he died :P Ill be redrawing him and a starter background soon~

Just do a shitty skeleton that feels like it's geometrically accurate and draw a bunch of random lines on top roughly, when doing the base drawing you don't really win anything other than wasted time if you do pixel perfect lines, unless it's for example anime where the outer lines are an essential part of the art. Just draw one line on top of the other and keep going like that, use the softedged tool at minimum size.

Unlike with real paper doing "perfect" lines on a 3DS seems to me at least "impossible" if it weren't for the undo feature. It's the equivalent of trying to write something on a slippery credit card, but with even less precision. I'm constantly amazed how pokefloote manages to do it so frequently and easily in his swapnotes, on the original 3DS even before he got an XL.

Yup that XL screen must help a ton with drawings :S still rocking my Zelda 3ds, so I'm more compressed when I draw. I make do though and it doesn't really bother me, but man... There are times I wish that screen was bigger :/
Thanks for the advice though, I think I'll keep doing practice sessions on my own for a little bit to try and see what I'm comfortable with. I feel if I do base sketches like y'all do first, my drawings will look much smoother and more accurate (since there are times my eyes don't Match up or other silly things)

AMD could introduce something comparable to DLSS but nvidia's got a lot more experience with that
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
least amd 7xxx has tensor cores which the previous generations didn't so there is the potential for AI upscaling
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
They have FSR or whatever it's called and yeah it's still not great
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
so AMD seem to finally be starting to take AI seriously
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Oh yeah those new 8000 CPUs have AI cores built in that's interesting
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Maybe they plan on offloading to the CPU?
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Would be kinda cool to have the CPU and GPU working in random more
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    Tandem even
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
i think i heard of that, it's a good idea, shouldn't need a dedicated GPU just to run a LLM or video upscaling
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
even the nvidia shield tv has AI video upscaling
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
LLMs can be run on cpu anyway but it's quite slow

Have you ever been beaten by a wet spaghetti noodle by your girlfriend because she has a twin sister, and you got confused and fucked her dad?

I had a girlfriend who had a twin sister and they would mess with me constantly.... Until one chipped a tooth then finally I could tell them apart.... Lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
They would have the same hair style the same clothes everything... Really messed with my head lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
@The Real Jdbye, I could see AMD trying to pull off the CPU GPU tandem thing, would be a way to maybe close the gap a bit with Nvidia. Plus it would kinda put Nvidia at a future disadvantage since Nvidia can't make X86/64 CPUs? Intel and AMD licensing issues... I wonder how much that has held back innovation.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
i don't think nvidia wants to get in the x64 cpu market anyways
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
you've seen how much intel is struggling getting into the gpu market
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
and nvidia is already doing ARM
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
i don't think they want to take more focus away from their gpus
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Yeah I think Nvidia s future lays in AI GPU acceleration stuff if they can get that going it's going to be super interesting in the long term

AI assisted game creation might become a thing
