So...the common 'essential wiiu game list'. Basically: if you've played a game you really liked and want to let others know, you can post it here. I (Taleweaver) will add it to the list below. :)

EDIT: it's propably worth mentioning that by the nature of this voluntary voting method, older games usually end up higher on the list, and newer games sometimes barely have votes. This doesn't mean these newer games are worse because they're ranked lower.

That said...A few rules if you want to vote:

* you must have played the wiiU version of the game at least an hour before making a vote (please respect this one)
* wiiU games don't have to be sold on disks to be voteable. However, for everything on the eShop goes the same first rule: you need to have played the wiiU version before casting a vote.
* you can vote for a demo if you really like it, but keep in mind this does not count as voting for the full version. Also: if the demo gets pulled from the eshop, I'll also remove it from the list.
* no minus votes. Not liking a game is fine, but please allow others their opinion.
* please keep your own tabs on which games you already voted for.
* please don't edit a previous post to add new games. It'll be impossible to keep the list up to date.
* if it's a new entry, please provide a short description of the type of game.
* keep the discussions on the games themselves to a minimum. There's a "start new thread" button for a reason. ;)
* state the full name of the game in a clear and readable fashion (one game per line, preferably with a "+1" prefix). If you can't be bothered to type more than "BLOPS 2", I'm assuming you just aren't too motivated to see it in the list. See my first reply below as an example.
* depending on how popular and largely used DLC will become, it may or may not become voteable (for the moment: please don't vote). EDIT: seeing how it can pretty much make a new game: vote for it if you like. :)
* UPDATE: since the wiiu is pretty much dead at this point (begin 2018), I'll only update this list about once a month or so (or longer, as time goes by).

That's it. And with that said...the list. :D

I like New Super Mario Bros U, but I feel like I might be biased because it's my only substantial launch game. Like.. had a 3D Mario came out at the same time I would've barely played NSMBU, so it isn't all that essential.

Nintendoland was genuinely great though, I stayed up till 7 in the morning playing Battle Quest with a mate the other day. Haven't had a gaming session like that in a *long* time. With that in mind, I'll just vote for that for now.

Only 40$, and easily one of the best kart racers I have played. Awesome cast of racers (WiiU has Wreck It Ralph and Danica Patrick as bonuses), and also comes with the Metal Sonic+Stage DLC. Online is fluid and fun, the framerate seems to be just as good if not better than the other console counterparts. And the new Flying/Boat portions of maps are well done, makes me think back to Diddy Kong Racing on the 64.

Oh, and you can play it on the Gamepad, and have another person racing full screen on the television. That was a pretty big plus for me

I stickied it.

I own only ZombiU and Nintendo Land.
I recommend only Nintendo Land from the two (fun and good graphics, show the gamePad capability for future games).

ZombiU is not as beautiful than I thought, there are still a lot of not so detailed elements and textures. Look at the signs/wall posters/etc., the writing is blurry and sometime unreadable. is that their opinion on HD?
I went up to the market, so I'm not far away in the story maybe it's better later, but it looks like some area are visually better than others.
On the control, I have a little difficulty to get used to the gamePad (I prefer wiimote pointing for FPS games :P)

Easily the best of the NSMB games, and my most played WiiU game by far (I only own NSMBU, ZombiU, and Nintendoland)

I've added the aforementioned games to the list. :)

But please:
* state the full name of the game in a clear and readable fashion (one game per line, preferably with a "+1" prefix). If you can't be bothered to type more than "BLOPS 2", I'm assuming you just aren't too motivated to see it in the list. See my first reply below as an example.

Of course I know what 'NSMBU' means, but I can't make that promise for all abbreviations.

"Asymmetric gameplay" on Nintendo Land is a blast. I grabbed ZombiU as my first Wii U eShop purchase and it's pretty solid too. NSMBU finally has challenges that won't make the completionist bored. Overall, pretty good launch lineup for me even though I haven't even had a chance to touch the Pro controller.

(I was thinking of adding it earlier, but decided to wait 'til I've played it in multiplayer. But now I've found out there's a more difficult setting for most (or even all?) games, I'm voting for it even without that. :D )

Also:

added the aforementioned.
