Okay, I just opened Facebook and it showed me this screen. A literal translation could be this:

Check your device against Malicious Software:
Hi *username*. We work continually to keep the security of your account.
We detected a possible infection with Malicious Software in your device.
In order to keep using Facebook, you can use another device or download the Analysis Tool provided by Facebook and ESET to clean your infected device.

Like, this is the official Facebook site.
To be honest, I don't know what should I do.
You see, I had a message on my phone (courtesy of my Cellphone Service) that said that Facebook had a virus circulating on several videos via Facebook Messenger service. And that If you opened it it could lead your device to be infected with a virus that would lock up your account.
Strange is, I hadn't seen any video on Facaebook nor have I visited it in a while.
I keep constant communication with relatives and thought I could check if I had any messages from them.

On top of that... I've had black screens in my lap from time to time, apparently for no reason.
I could just be listening music when all of sudden, the screen goes black.
I could be working on something when suddenly my screen goes black.
Or I could be watching stupid videos on Youtube and the same thing happens.

So, guys... did Facebook infected my device?
Is this a serious threat to my system?
What do you think?

Hi!
Thank you very much for the reply.
Just want to point out some things:

1.- I have Malwarebytes running all the time (the free trial)
2.- I hadn't clicked anything on Facebook, nor downloaded the shit that's telling me to download. I'm not that stupid.
3.- Is there any possibility that my lap has been already infected with a virus?
4.- NO I DO NOT DOWNLOAD SOFTWARE NOR GAMES NOR ANYTHING. Seriously.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Also, using Google Chrome. :creep:

Usually things like this are scareware, but sometimes it could be something more. There’s a few things you can do to check 90% of all possiblities.

First things first, run a virus scan. Use malware bytes since you already have it, as well as Windows Defender or any other virus scan you might have. Preferably take your device offline until this is done to reduce the chance of any virus spreading or downloading more.

If your scans don’t find anything then start checking browser hijacking checks and make sure your HOST file (it’s a file on your computer, google it) is clean.

If you’ve done all this and still can’t find anything, then consider backing up any important data and nuking your drive and go with a fresh Windows install.

Noooo!
Seriously?!

Nuke everything, and reinstall windows?

God damn... yesterday ran both Malware and Windows Defender and both found nothing.
Today will check that Host file.
Okay, thanks. Hope I don't have to nuke everything. I don't feel that confident to reinstall windows.
Fucking faceshit.

There’s a few other possibilities you could try before nuking. Check other browsers, check that your DNS is correct (either ISP DNS, google DNS, or that new open DNS), check that you’re not using proxies. Hell, you can even try turning off the computer and turning it back on again!

But yeah, since your scans didn’t turn up anything, likely not a virus.

One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I wonder if I could recommend that to some emulation devs that perhaps the sound could use some smoothing out to simulate those old TVs
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way
