Gaming I need help getting my hands on an american copy of Pokémon Emerald

Here's my situation, I've been living in Japan for quite some time now and would like to complete my collection of American pokémon games. My problem is, that these cartridges are really difficult to come by here so I resorted to the internet and online shopping. Due to my fear of getting a fake copy and the fact that most sellers don't ship to Japan, I prefer not to buy online. Then it occurred to me since I have a JP copy of emerald laying around, couldn't I somehow plug it into my computer and replace the Japanese ROM with an American one? Also, if anyone knows a reliable place to buy American GBA games (online or locally), then I would be willing to give online shopping another shot.

"ROMs" are called such because they are copies of the contents of a cartridge's Read Only Memory. It's physically burned in at the time of creation. It can't be changed.

Here's someone on ebay selling genuine North American Emerald carts, with shipping to Japan. 99.3% positive ratings. If cost is an issue, and you don't care about the label's condition, here's a cheaper one. Again, very high rating.
