Hardware Joycon Screwdriver same as DS?

Simple question, is the tri-wing screwdriver used on the Joycons the same size as those used on the DS?

I just want to replace the shell and while they look the same in pictures, I don’t want to end up with one that’s marginally the wrong size. It seems unnecessary to get a full set of drivers, too.

Yes they are. I was in the service boat as you wanting to swap out my Joy-Con shells and the tri-wing screwdriver from the Nintendo tools say that they work for DS as well. The 2.5 mm tri-wing tool works.

Thanks for that, I’ll get that size specifically. It’s frustrating how unspecific many guides are regarding the actual size of the screwdriver.

no problem and I know right it's a pain to find a good guide that explains what tools they use and why I'm using the IGN and guide that came with the replacement shells.

I purchase two diffrent triwing scredrivers , one from aliexpress and other from a local store . And none of them work they didnt fit into the screw , is the name and size tri wing 2.5 mm ???
