team xecuter is coming out with a mod they claim is compatible with all firmwares, past present and future. it is speculated to be a hard mod.

You are not "blocked" for life, just based on what is currently known and expected.

There are exploits that are being worked on for 3.0.0 and below, as well as a hardmod solution that should work on any firmware.

As it usually goes, higher firmwares will get cracked sooner or later, but I'd recommend to stay on the firmware you currently have and not update any further. All games should work on your firmware currently.

Neither am I. Therefore I hope @gamesquest1 makes Switch mods later, if a hardmod is needed that is.

Depending on how well team X delivers I would wait around for a hard mod, their are more benefits while the console is still getting regular updates hardmodding than softmodding IMO.

How are you so sure it isnt gonna happen? We may not get that as soon as people want it but eventually it will be out , for sure.
