Are you sure the version is 3.0.0? because on the first page it says that higher than 150 it is in version 3.0.1

I think it's like with the Mario Oddysey Bundle - numbers are lower but firmware is higher than all before and after.

Just received a brand new Splatoon Bundle from eBay.

Given the info in the OP, I was 100% sure this was going to be a 3.0.0 system. Color me pleasantly surprised!

    Serial: XAW100214
    Region: US
    Firmware: 2.3.0
Store: Unknown (bought new on eBay)
Was a bundle (if yes, which): Splatoon Bundle

Hi! I didn't really get the principal of how to know which firmware version goes with the Serial. The serial would be XAJ400145512XX. Could you please tell me what firmware Version I would have to expect? Thanks so much

Read the first post. Towards the bottom of the post, the serial numbers are given in ranges. If your serial falls within a reported range, it's probably the associated firmware version listed above the ranges.

In the first post I found the following ranges:
    2.2.0 XAJ400107 - XAJ400174
    2.3.0 XAJ400105 - XAJ400154

    I have Serial Number: XAJ400145512XX
What can I expect, 2.2 or 2.3? How secure is this method? Is there a chance that this serial is higher than 3.0? I just want to double check since I'm up to buying a second switch and just to be secure to not waste the money

Thanks for your help in advance

Oh wow, I haven't even looked at the Japanese ranges because both of my systems are from the US. Apologies, I can see how that would be confusing now.

I think given those ranges, there's no way to know for sure. But either 2.2.0 or 2.3.0 are both great finds, regardless.

So, what would you say. Can I be sure with the serial of XAJ400145512XX I have a 2.2 or 2.3? Would you risk it?

I have XAJ400136 and firmware 2.3.0. I would guess it's 2.3.0 most probably. Could be 3.0.0 but chanches that's 3.0.1 if it's new and never unpacked (you can't be sure as there is no way to say) is very small.

Really there should be an edit button.
It's not a bundle? I would guess it's Neon colour joypad, does it?

Ah, my mistake. Thanks for the correction.

I think so. 3.0.0 is rare enough as it is, 2.2.0 or 2.3.0 would be both great finds either way. And who knows, maybe something will come up in the next month or two that will make you happy that you're below 3.0.0.

Nope it's not a bundle. It's a plain one. The gray one, not the neon one...

Can you return it in 14 days? You could just use vol-+ down + power to check firmware. I still think you are safe, it's below XAJ400154 or 155 which were all grey and 2.3.0

Unfortunately I cannot, once I buy. We don't have that easy rules here :-) Once opened i will not be able to return it. That's why I really have to be sure (or of course, as sure as possible). Therefore the question. What do you think? Buy or no buy?

I would buy with such a low serial. Every day makes buying low firmware Switches harder.
