You are wrong, piracy didn't kill it. The DC failed because of poor marketing strategies and later, the added pressure of the PS2, etc, before it's EOL.
Sega made bad choices during the Sega Saturn Era, you could say it all started with there CD and 32X add ons, developers wanted to support the Dreamcast but Sega just made way too many bad decisions, plus Sega of Japan and America were both at war with one another back in the 90s over what each wanted to do that they fucked one another over and with the rise of Sony, devs just thought it would be better to jump on the Sony PS2 bandwagon cause it used DVD and had more space than what Sega was offering and it was 299 for a game system and a DVD player, you couldn't beat that at the time, developers saw who would win, so it wasn't just piracy, it was multiple things but believe what you will, while alot of us will believe in the facts.
You two need to realize that the USA isn't the centre of the universe. The Saturn did very well in Japan and somewhat ok in Europe. When the Dreamcast was released, many were amazed and bought one. When piracy became a problem more and more developers decided to make games for the then unhacked PS2. Sure, SEGA's marketing wasn't great but it wasn't anywhere near as bad as you guys make it sound. I remember watching kids play SEGA Rally and Sonic Adventure on VIVA. Saying that piracy didn't contribute is dumb as f.

Neither of the quotes you posted said that. One said that it wasn't just piracy, and the other said piracy didn't kill it.

Literally my point and his, this doesn't mean there's code execution in anyway. They might just dumped kernel and that's it. No reason to get hyped about it

None of the devs mentioned in that tweet will release anything publicly for a few years. They're just announcing their achievement to their close circle of friends.

yls8 in particular is known to squirrel away exploits for many years, he's only very recently started releasing stuff.

We were literally this far with the 3DS and still didn't see shit for 2 years. I am just tossing out that just because something is happening behind the scenes, doesn't mean much for us in the foreground.

this is exciting news for those hackers only. Not you end users or noobs who don't contribute shit and think you know every thing and also say: "homebrew incoming! Pirated games!"
don't say exciting if you don't understand. Just compliment the hackers if you know what they achieved then go on with your lives.
