Just a little update to those who may be wondering, university has kicked in full force now so my time dedicated to this project has been severely limiting. I'm not giving up on it, just don't expect any real developments any time soon. Sorry.

I hope you can keep working on this, as this is the only attempt at this I've seen.
The conversations add a lot to the characters, and it's a shame it was skipped over. It would make the game feel more complete having this added.

Hey everybody, I'm slowly getting back into the swing of things now that finals are coming up next week. In the meantime, I'm working on a guide that will help everyone rebuild the DLC themselves so that people can, at the very least, enjoy the maps as the translation progresses...and get infinite brands. Hopefully this will also encourage more people to help too. I've already received the rest of Hisame and Selkie's translations from user technickal. So, thanks for helping speed up the process man!

I'll try to make the guide as retard proof as possible and possibly elaborate on some other topics so that maybe other people can use the guide as a base for other projects. God knows how much time I spent just trying to get the damn thing to run.

As promised, here is a guide for dumping, patching, and rebuilding the DLC.

Only wrote the guide for the North American version at the moment. European version guide eventually. It's not that different anyway.

Hope the guide makes sense to you guys. It looks a little hard at first but once you get in the swing of things, it's easy. It's even easier once all your project files are ready so you can update faster.

EDIT: I forgot to show these guys off. An enemy drops one for each DLC.

Hisame is finished. The furry with a fox fursona is next.

Most of these were done by technikal as stated earlier.

By far my favorite has to be Peri's dialogue, as I was able to maintain most of her original mannerisms like her speaking in first person. I did this by having her refer to herself as "Mama." I believe it fits very well and I was able to maintain some of her Japanese characteristics while still being true to the localization.

Selkie is done. Mitama is next in line.
Once again, Peri's was the most enjoyable because it gives her another character arc. Charlotte's is a close second. And again, most of these are from technickal.

As you can tell, the screenshots were taken using Snickerstream. I wanted to test its streaming capabilities but the screenshots came with the border and the mouse cursor to boot. Guess I won't be using it next time...

Lol so my laptop finally died but thankfully I was smart enough to constantly update the github so no progress was lost. Ironically I bought a new laptop on amazon this morning right before it happened. Lol at least my buyers remorse is gone.

Anyway enjoy your New Years. Hopefully I'll be back on track by thursday.

Bullet dodged!

I'm so glad you're putting this together. Happy new year!

Is it possible to do this without cfw?
No. At a very basic level, at least need a way to install .cia files on your system, which requires CFW.

Every 3DS and every model can now be softmodded at the cost of a DS flashcart and a small magnet. So it shouldn't be too difficult to get CFW on your system.

Sorry for the lack of content, but setting up my new laptop was a pain in a variety of reasons. Mainly, what the hell is up with laptops having touch sensitivity on the mouse buttons now? I'm clearly behind the times. Also, Mitama is just a pain in general to write for. Despite the translations being written for me, Mitama likes being wordy and not having everything fit neatly into text boxes. Also, I wanted to rewrite some of the haikus to be more haiku-like. Anyway, she's fun to write haikus for since I love getting creative with limitations.

Anyway, Mitama is, more or less, finished. I translated all the conversations that had translations available. So, until those are complete, I'm moving on the Caeldori after I'm done revising the early text. I'm currently going back and fixing the kimono dialogue and some of the other children to sound more natural and flowing. As for screenshots, I'm going to start posting less because 1. I'm lazy. 2. I don't want to spoil them for anyone who doesn't wanna see them. So here are some of my favorites.

Hey !

I use your guide but I have a little problem. (Sorry for english)

At this final step :

Rebuilding the DLC as .CIA
We're finally at the end boys. You ready for this crazy hard final step?

  1. If you're playing on a Special Edition cartridge, paste this into cmd: makerom -f cia -rsf rom.rsf -o ScrambleTranslated.cia -ckeyid 0 -major 0 -minor 12 -micro 0 -DSaveSize=0 -dlc -i 00000062.app:0x0000:0x00000062 -i 00000048.app:0x0009:0x00000048 -i 00000045.app:0x000a:0x00000045 -i 00000049.app:0x000b:0x00000049 -i 00000046.app:0x000c:0x00000046 -i 0000004d.app:0x000d:0x0000004d -i 0000003b.app:0x000e:0x0000003b -i 0000004d.app:0x000f:0x0000004d -i 0000004e.app:0x0010:0x0000004e -i 00000050.app:0x0027:0x00000050 -i 00000052.app:0x0028:0x00000052 -i 00000054.app:0x0031:0x00000054 -i 00000057.app:0x0032:0x00000057 -i 00000055.app:0x0033:0x00000055 -i 00000059.app:0x0035:0x00000059 -i 0000006b.app:0x0036:0x0000006b -i 0000006c.app:0x0037:0x0000006c -i 0000005c.app:0x0038:0x0000005c -i 0000005d.app:0x0039:0x0000005d -i 0000005e.app:0x003a:0x0000005e -i 00000063.app:0x003b:0x00000063 -i 00000064.app:0x003c:0x00000064 -i 00000065.app:0x003d:0x00000065
I copy/paste all in one in my window and I have this error :

[SETTING ERROR] '0000003b.app' could not be opened
[RESULT] Invalid arguments, see 'C:\Users\nicoa\Desktop\PROJET DLC\makerom.exe -help'

I use the guide for EUR rebuild.
I rename the 00000063.app to 0000006b.app and at the step

Patching the Spring Scramble DLC

I rename correctly the 63.app to 6b.app

And finally at this step :

10. Save the file and open up ContentInfoArchive_EUR_en.bin located in the same folder with your hex editor.

I use the ContentInfoArchive_EUR_fr.bin because I'm french and I rename the Dlc's names to Festival du printemps et Festival d'automne, it's possible this is the reason of the error ?

Very thanks for you help !:grog:
