I don't have folders inside the iso folder.

My setup.

dev_hdd0/PS2ISO/(whatevergamename).ISO

Does it need to be converted to PS2 classics or whatever it's called first? I made a folder called "PS2ISO" and put it on the root of my internal HDD. Do I need to convert it first? i'll report back..

No, no conversion needed. What CFW are you using? You need to also enable cobra mode to play ps2 iso.

I'm really starting to get frustrated now, I want someone to answer please.

I FINALLY figured out how to move the file, I turned it into a PS2 classic and moved it onto my internal HDD. I even made sure PS2 manager had it set (the copywrite block still keeps coming up though)

I'm pretty sure I did everything right but it's still not working..
Do you have cobra enabled on your PS3, or in Webmann?

No. Just install the cfw through ps3. No need to do the internet browser thing.

I installed it, tried to play the ISO again. It then showed something called "PS2formatdisc" aaaaaaaaaaaand...

It worked! wow! thanks a lot!

Is it reccomended to play ps2 backups on another user account? I don't wanna get banned.

Does PSX games work similar? how do I get those to work?

Yes PS1 games are similar. Just put them in a PSXISO folder. PS1 games can load off of external and internal.

I think the risk is the same even if you switch accounts.
Use PSN patch to reduce ban. You'll still be at risk though.

What about games bigger than 4GB? I heard you can't play them or something? it won't even transfer onto my flashdrive for some reason.

If your flashdrive is fat32 format then files over 4gb cant be used just format your flashdrive to ntsf and you can then play games of any size.

ughhhhhhhh having another issue..

I tested the punisher before and it worked, then I tried Starwars battlefront 2, got a black screen, and then it went back to XMB and said something about an error code (80028F17)

So I tried another game (GTA vice city) moved it to my internal HDD like I did with star wars, ran it, it worked.

I read on the compatability list regarding SWBF2: "

Work fine when using config file for correct region ,and v1.01 version of game (check in system.cnf)
"

what does it mean by config and where is system.cnf?

Battlefront doesn't work for me either. It freezes. Ps3 is running ps2 through emulation if you have the newer models.
And emulation isn't 100%.

Config files can be found here.
https://github.com/Zarh/Get_CONFIG/tree/master/soft/files

Find your games ID number and download that config file.
Rename the config file to the exact same name your ISO file is named.

For example
God of War II.iso.CONFIG

And place it in the same folder your iso file is in.
This will increase compatibility.
Make sure file extensions is enable on your computer so you can see it in full.
Try it for Battle Front II.

Doesn't seem to work? I used the I.D SLUS-21240 as that seems to be the correct one: http://www.psdevwiki.com/ps3/PS2_Emulation#Config_file_examples_.28for_netemu.29 they're the same so..

Its missing the ISO part.

It should be Star Wars - Battlefront II (USA).iso.CONFIG

Did it exactly like you said:

Still has this happen after trying to boot:

If it doesn't work then I don't know. You have to try different ps2 games to see what works and what doesn't.

:( oh well I guess, thanks anyway. Not sure why it's not working though the compatability list said it works fine..

For PSX games I can play them off a device right? do they need to be in seperate folders? it can't seem to see the PSX files I have on there.
