Does having kid affect you playing game?

I'm not a parent yet but some days it will be eventually. So when I am visiting my gaming forum I notice a guy who want to sell all of his gaming stuff because he have kids now and don't have time for it anymore. It strike me as a shitty excuse for quit gaming but somehow it does make sense, you need to pay a lots attention for kids and god know what they can do to those delicate machine. I do babysitting for my brother before and my nephew so annoying, they are stubborn and lousy and they think they know everything when I try to teach them playing game because they won't let me play it alone. If I have to quit gaming because kids then I rather quit being parent.

Is a matter of opinion. Balance is important and pretty much required to live a healthy life over all. If you ever watch tv programs and the people complain about what they don't get to do anymore, how they make sacrifices and either regret or don't regret them, is their own decision or opinion.

If you want a legacy (Children) then is up to you. If you're fine without children and rather pursuit a gaming career then is up to you. If you want both you have to find the balance and also make rational decisions in the moments you feel is best judgement. Some people feel they can't be a gamer cause having a family comes first and hinders that. But one with proper balance can possibly do something about it.

I got 2 kids and got all the time in the world to play games.
I only need to feed them twice a day and they poop in the litterbox by themselves.

you can always spend time on what you like. a good tip is just to shake them a bit then they will be quiet

Of course not - having kids changes absolutely nothing at all and anyone who sacrifices hobbies to take care and nurture their offspring is a terrible parent and needs to be removed from the human race.

You know you could just game for an hour or 2 in private,no one has to know,or pass it down to your children when they get old enough unless your wife disapproves gaming,than your only other option is to keep them as collection,sell the consoles/games or game in private.You also have pc gaming which is more acceptable since your family will be needing a computer for Internet needs.

Just think about all the time I spend for them and everything I have to push up to just for them to leave me in foster home when I get old make me hate children. I already have to work 8 hours a day and when I get home I have to cook, clean and texting my gf, and after all those chore I could only get like 2-3 hours to play video game before I hit the bed. Last thing I want to do is spend those time for more chore, nothing worth that much of sacrifice.

That is a shitty attitude. If you have children, it's your fault. Therefore, you must take responsibility. Having children and then deciding "fuck them I want to play games" is a childish attitude, and a terrible one. If you don't want to have to care, don't have children.

They take lots of time. I only play when they are asleep. My oldest is almost 8 and we are starting to game together. No more GTA or fps right now. I've been playing on my Psp, Gba, and n3ds. Much easier to play in quietly in bed. Anyway, kids are totally worth the sacrifice. They can be lots of fun. It all depends on you, as a parent. You can usually tell how the parents are by the behavior of their kids.

Yeah because it's not like you can play multiplayer with them, buy your own console and hide mature games high up where they can't reach it or you know...

Maybe not game 24/7?

I personally will get my kid or kids(when i have em) into gaming and then i plan on gaming together with them as a form of bonding

I play with my kids all the time. I don't know what you're talking about. I have 3 kids and we love playing all the nintendo multiplayer games. You can't beat having kids to play with at all times lol.

Some of the people in this thread should chill the fuck out. He's saying that if he has to quit his hobby he'd rather not have kids which is his choice. There's nothing wrong with it either imo.
