"please stand for the flag"

was gonna write this yesterday but a guy with th US flag painted on his truck just made me remember

when people do the pledge I talk quieter and say this

I pledge allegiance to the flag
of the somewhat united states of America
and to the republic for which it stands
one nation of idiots, under a supernatural idiot
with liberty and justice only for the rich

im very patriotic XD

flags... flags...

They say "flag" only once in the whole song, but for some reason this is the first thing I thought about when reading "flag".

Why stand for the flag ? The flag doesnt do anything for you. Therefore, the political doesnt care about you and everyone. :rofl2: And I dont care about the flag and I refuse to stand for the flag too. I just stand and dream.

I've never really understood why people are patriotic, like congrats, you got the luck of the draw and were birthed in this country, what exactly are you proud of? Sure you can be grateful you live there! But "proud"? Ehhhh

I dunno, maybe I'm skeptical because in the UK patriots seem to usually be, well, rough people for lack of a better word :P

Oof, that hurts a little. Personally, I have nothing but respect for the flag and what it represents, but I can't make you stand for what I stand for. I also realize that on this site, I'm the minority ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The middle school version:

I made agreements with a hag in an exotic state in Africa
and to the public for witch's hands; one station, Invisibility, with libraries and jaundice for all.

That's going back quite a ways, but that's as nearly as I can remember how we distorted it in middle school.

..One Nation, Indivisible...
"Under God" is not an official part of the pledge; it was added in during the cold war. The Directorate doesn't recognize the "god" part, and recognizes the US motto as "e pluribus unum".
