I think that is useless because you can uninstall/move the ds title to usb without the permission of parental control and brick.
did you ever even read the first post?
"there are several protections against overwriting, moving to usb and deleting"
also about the formatting thing, last time I looked at it I didnt see anything to patch over, have to look at that again some time.

Cool. It asks like 3 times to ensure you want to format but I imagine it would be dangerous to be messing with it to find the necessary points to patch. Even better than a giant NO symbol, linking to the CBHC uninstaller with a small message before that explains the deal would be ideal.

Is this supposed to make the wii U region free? Cause with it activated, my japanese disc of TMSFE doesn't work (invalid disc).

Wasn't there a homebrew app which allowed you to load region-locked discs?
Openloader or something like that? Try that app, it might launch it.

Hi, I have 2 questions

1.- Does anything harmful happens if I run Haxchi from the wiiU menu having CBHC installed?
2.- The first page mentions "protections against overwriting, moving to usb and deleting", wich are those protections?

1. If you use a different haxchi title then no
2. It prevents you from deleting or moving the title to usb since doing either will brick your console

1. if you mean launching the CBHC "do not touch me" title, then it will just re-launch CBHC and its autoboot menu.
if you select autoboot to hbl, then launching that title will launch hbl again.

if you set autoboot to sysmenu, you should avoir relaunching it, it will try to repatch the firmware.

even with region free some games dont work, wiiu is very wierd on this aspect due to their wierd region locking stuff.
well its not due to weird region locking, its just that games use paths that are determined by the systems language settings i.e it may load the games text from "/text/%language%/text.txt" the issue is that if your trying to run a Japanese game on a EU/US system you run the risk of the game trying to load a file from the disk/game that simply does not exist as the Japanese game doesn't have have a "/text/English/text.txt" file, this can sometimes be fixed by simply renaming the "/text/Japanese/text.txt" folder to "/text/English/text.txt" but these things are often very much game specific on a title by title basis

it is similar on the 3ds, it would be good if we get a tool/cfw similar to luma or NTR cfw that will allow the system to identify itself to a different language setting on a game by game basis, this should in theory be able to fix most of the issues with loading out of region games

Why can't ask here? or create a new thread if it's not related to this subject.
your question might help more users.

@FIX94:
would it be possible to add the Mocha patch to prevent WiiU HDD format message ?
it will prevent using UStealth and editing the partition table to hide the drive. un/hiding it every time you want to put it on PC is unnecessary step now, and some users broke their partition table doing that.

or does it require FAT32 support patches to prevent that screen to appear?

From what I saw, both CBHC CFW and Mocha CFW are based on the Simple Sign Patcher, and the reboot hock from CBHC CFW came in contribution with @dimok (which I can asume that these use the same reboot patch). So from my undestanding, is doable to merge FAT32 implementation from Mocha to CBHC CFW, and pretty easily. But the last word is from @FIX94 if he wants to make the implementation.

I didn't really asked to add the FAT32 support, just the patch to prevent the format message.
at least, just that patch should be useful without adding a lot of code. I just wondered if it required the FAT32 support to remove the format message, in which case it's fine not to add that patch.

Adding FAT32 would be nice, but maybe it should be kept as a feature of Mocha.
CBHC = easy patch and fast boot
mocha = more features individually selectable by users at mocha launch. slower to boot.

How safe is CBHC right now, in the sense : if Haxchi Virtual DS title gets corrupted / deleted, we brick right ? How safe is that NAND space compared to the original sysmenu ? I'm quite afraid that my DS title gets corrupted or deleted, for basic reason just as entropy (recently my USB HDD died for no reason, just of old age and use). In case that happens, is there any tool to recover NAND/OTP keys from backups ?

haxchi doesn't use a different nand space than original sysmenu and if the nand corrupts on the wii u your gonna brick anyways

Isn't the original sysmenu in a more secured area of the partition ? If not, cool, seems pretty safe then, apart from a random delete or formatting.

haxchi has protection against deleting the vc title so if you for some odd reason format your console(i dont see why tough) that would brick.

I was referred to this thread by @Kafluke with an issue I believe to be related to CBHC. He assisted me all that he could, but my issue is when I have CBHC installed, I am unable to connect to the internet. I uninstalled CBHC and I was able to connect to the internet immediately, but when I re-installed it, I lost internet access. I checked my DHCP settings, because the only way I am able to connect when CBHC is installed is with a manual/static IP address, but they are fine as every other device is connected to my network. I have tried resetting my modem and router as well, but it doesn't help. Any ideas? I am on the latest version of both Haxchi and CBHC. Thank you.
