However I just went in to the Luma3DS updater program and pressed A:

This is not the same thing as a System Update; it just downloads and extracts the newest Luma3DS files. This will only update the Luma3DS files on your SD card. If you boot your device without an SD card, it will use the version you placed in CTRNAND.

Its now asking "Do you want to enable downloading boot.firm on CTR-NAND?

Press A + X to enable
Press B to disable

Since you just followed the guide, you should already have Luma3DS 8.1 on your SD card and on your CTRNAND. So, there's no reason to run Luma Updater right now. If a new version of Luma3DS is released, you can use Luma Updater to update. I prefer not to immediately install a new version to the CTRNAND until I'm sure it works.

Sounds good! After that you'll be wanting to grab freeshop to download 3ds backups. In the settings it asks for a URL to titlekeys. Google "that title key site" and it'll be the first result. Just input that URL! You can grab freeshop by going to FBI and under TitleDB. As for your flashcart, if it doesn't work out of the box. Look for a patch. There should be a thread on them.

Hm that is weird. It should be under the auto update title keys from URL field. Did you include https://?

freeShop Launcher

I installed both and now I have two icons on the home menu for the freeShop etc.

After you install it, you need to find the 3DS title keys website and scan the QR code on the website in: freeShop's Settings > Update > Auto-update title keys from URL.

The "launcher" actually just downloads the title keys and then starts freeShop. But as far as I know, it doesn't work, because it uses the old URL. (The title key site moved.)

You can find the list of installed titles in FBI. Find those two applications and uninstall them.

System Settings app - Data Management - Nintendo 3DS - Software - (app to uninstall) - Delete

And to install that version of FreeShop, run FBI, select Remote Install - Scan QR code - scan the QR code on that post

You can install anything.

DLC region must match game region.

Playing an out-of-region game online isn't safe.

It says something about failing to load a font.

However it has loaded up the first game OK !
