First of all what kick.start rom should I be using so far i have found six different versions online which are 1.2/1.3/2.0/3.0/3.1/4.0

This is my UAE file I have been using to try and load SWOS what have I got wrong here lol

kickstart_rom_file=sd:/roms/Amiga/kick.rom
chipmem_size=1
bogomem_size=2
use_gui=no
nr_floppies=2
cpu_type=68000
cpu_speed=real
cpu_compatible=true
ntsc=false
chipset=ocs
immediate_blits=false
gfx_linemode=double
gfx_framerate=1
sound_output=normal
sound_frequency=44100
sound_channels=mixed
sound_interpol=none
show_leds=true
floppy_speed=100
gfx_center_vertical=smart
gfx_center_horizontal=smart
gfx_color_mode=16
floppy0=sd:/roms/Amiga/Sensible World of Soccer_Disk1.adf
floppy1=sd:/roms/Amiga/Sensible World of Soccer_Disk2.adf

Thanks all for any help you may have for me.
Try with kick13.rom, also your kickstart path MUST NOT HAVE spaces (spent around 3 hours to figure out -_-)

@rioray I've tested various Amiga games and everything's perfect, Sound, speed. Everything :) But I'm having issues with the on screen keyboard on C16 and C64? For example say I load a game and it gets to a point where I need to press Y or N to enable/disable a trainer or press f1 to start a game 9 times out out of 10 the button presses don't register?
The on screen keyboard must work though because keys like Shift, GUI and KBD all work?
Can you give some games name to test ,I didn't notice this problem.

Retrolauncher is literally just HBL with diferent directory target, don't use it, just use RetroArch Channel.

You mean the one Ploggy linked to? How is it more stable than the Retro Launcher, if I may ask? Aren't they both technically just forwarders disguised as channels? I mean, surely, the RetroArch launcher has to know where on the SD card RetroArch.rpx is located, no?

What is the best way to update? I am still on 1.50 and need some Quake goodness in my life.
Should I just delete the whole app and install from scratch or is there a couple of files that I can just overwrite and be done with it?
I'd hate to lose my core configs and have to redo is all, but if its easier to just start from scratch then I guess it will have to do.

Thanks in advance.

Retrolauncher wasn't that that homebrew that when you launched was just essentially another homebrew launcher where u could put all the retroarch cores before they were changeable? That's the diff if that's what we are talking about.

Yes, RetroLauncher was just another instance of HBL, maybe the confusion arise because the "channel" is also called RetroArch Launcher :P

Yeah. Haha.

So foxy.....the difference is. One loads homebrew channel a second time (which one alone seems to be a problem) then loads the cores.

Where as the actual loader channel is just a forwarder to load retroarch from main screen no need for homebrew channel.

Well, is there a link the right channel that I need to install? I can't seem to find it unless it was the one Ploggy linked on the other page.

This is a dsi error I got while trying to load a rom I recently played on the Genesis Plus GX core. Putting it here for anyone who might know what this means. Hopefully the Wii U version of Retroarch gets more stable. The progress that has been made the past couple of weeks is impressive!View attachment 94981

These errors are baffling indeed, I just installed 1.6.4, but now I'm wary to use it, even when I install Retro Launcher. I thought it was more stable? @ploggy @QuarkTheAwesome ?

Twinaphex mentioned that there were some changes to the ogg vorbis stuff recently (where that crash is), so that's the likely culprit. Is that particular crash common or do you need to have a weird set of circumstances for it to occur?

(Tech people: it's freeing an invalid address. We already wrap the memory functions so it's easy enough to add a check, but my worry is that it really shouldn't be trying in the first place.)

I was mostly speaking in behalf of many people who were experiencing it, and yes, it shouldn't be happening, but the real question is whether or not this can truly be fixed once and for all. It sounds like a rather deep issue :unsure: Now I'm truly wary on checking out any version past 1.5.0, I should just stick to that or 1.4.1 if it's going to be unstable, even with the Launcher.

that's the only available afaik

So that is the one I need then?

Hey @ploggy, is that the same launcher i've been using or a revised launcher?
It's the same one ;)

Sure. You can try Bruce Lee for the C64 and Mr Puniverse for the C16 :)

Wow Twinaphex's Bounty has already reached $200 ours took a little longer lol

Yep all working now it was the bloody spaces had to rename over 200 Amiga games due to the spaces lol. Thanks for your help only problem I have now is it seems to taka an absolute age to load any game on average it's like two or 3 mins a game.

Well son of a b**ch :(

I thought the RetroArch Launcher was more stable. Well, it's not, the second I changed from Snes9x mainline to Genesis Plus, it all goes to hell.

I was really hoping for more stability, maybe Haxchi + CFW really is the cause, I'd install CBHC if it wasn't so risky.

I'm pretty sure rolling back to 1.4.1 or even 1.5.0 would prove more effective since this bug is persistent and easily reproduced. Even using the RA Launcher didn't help with core swapping. But tit seems, the Ogg Vorbis aspect is causing it. :(:hateit: I'll stick to the PC port until this is resolved.
