so this means there is no difference from 1.0.0 to 3.0.2
from what i understand, the 1.0.0 method activates more consistently (like every time) whereas the > 1.0.0 method requires some attempts, like pegaswitch.

edit: to be perfectly clear, i'm not complaining. this is fucking awesome news.

Sorry for the Noob question but can someone please explain what the difference between a KernelHax and TrustzoneHax are, or redirect me to some reading material about the 2 processes?

I am most interesting in understanding the following:
  • Is it just the firmware version they support but both have the same outcome? EG CFW
  • Are they 2 completely different thing that lead to different outcomes?
  • Or is it more indepth then that? Such as certain features only available on one vs the other?
Thank you

Kernel allows homebrew, TrustZone allows CFW

TrustZone should allow for both, doesn't it?

Since it's higher in chain than kernel, so if you have TZ you pretty much have kernel as well.
Correct me if I'm wrong, please, I'm just talking from guesses and speculations.
Well I don't think you can have TZ without kernel so :P

stupid person here; so trustzone will basically in theory one day allow me to play the latest botw update without having to update to 4.x ? (or will be basically cfw 4.x ?)

or possibly allow us to play pokemon crystal on our switches? maybe even netflix/youtube?

SciresM says it works on 3.x, but a previous tweet makes it seem like he doesn't have a 3.02 Switch to test exploits on

https://twitter.com/SciresM/status/952252300801683456

I asked him on twitter, but no response yet
sciresm said it should work on 3.1 and 3.2 not works for sure

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM

  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm

i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space

  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@rqkaiju2, Physical media is a great source for archiving your data, none of that cloud storage shiz.
