Happy MAR10 Day!
The 69th day of the year in the Gregorian calendar reads March 10 and that's today! Abbreviated as MAR10, the day is a loving homage to everybody's favorite mustachioed video game character: Mario!
To celebrate the day, Google collaborated with the team at Nintendo to include an Easter egg in its Google Maps smartphone app. If you update the latter on your Android or iOS device and click on the yellow “?” icon on the bottom right, you'll be prompted to enable Mario Time:
Once enabled, the navigation arrow will be morphed into Mario! He’ll be your constant companion wherever you’re driving this week. Let's-a go! Just watch out for those banana peels and drive safe!
I cannot help but think of this as a not-so-subtle wink at the upcoming Mario Kart for mobiles, similar to the way Google enable people to catch Pokémon inside the same app on April Fools’ Day back in 2014.
However, I believe that this feature is not available globally as I cannot seem to find it in my location. No word about this being a global feature was mentioned in Google's blog post either.

So in case you are looking for a reason to game today, MAR10 might very well give you your fix.
