Wait, I am? I'm going from A9LH to B9S, so if I did NOT complete that part of the conversion guide, where I get safeb9sinstaller to launch: 1. Boot your device while holding (Start) to launch SafeB9SInstaller, 2. Wait for all safety checks to complete 3. When prompted, input the key combo given to install boot9strap.
....then how am I on B9S?? How do I know i'm not still on A9LH still? I was able to use Luma on A9LH, so that doesn't really help show me that somehow B9S installed itself without prompting/input.

Hold Select when you power on the System
it will say Luma3DS v9.0 at the top
and at the bottom it will say that it booted via B9S

Oh, you're right. So...I have no idea how that all went down unless I did something previously that got B9S installed and didn't make it blatantly clear. So weird. Thanks for letting me know!

Next issue....How can I connect to w public wifi location when the internet setup connection wants the security key, (when you just have to select terms of service OK, along with a user name to use), and the home screen browser itself fails because it can't connect to a wifi connection that isn't already setup.... >__<

Guys, i'm crying right now. I just want to sort some VC games in the eShop using some filters: Impossible to sort by devices! For example: i'm trying to find some VC running on Game Boy Color only... the only option I have is to select all devices, but I can't sort games by devices: GB, GBC, SNES, or NES etc... I can only browse 8 fucking pages trying to find my games... Is there an option to sort it by devices?

Old man noob here, and I know it’s annoying to you guys that know what you're doing, but I’m trying to hook my son up with a couple of cool little consoles for his birthday. We have a 3ds and wii u. Been trying to figure this out and found this site. My adhd makes it tough to sift through everything on this site, so I was hoping someone might dumb it down for me just to get the stuff I need. I know it will take me some time to get it all together.

Then I will read Mrjason005’s post to get to know everything while I wait for things to be delivered.

Here are my initial questions on things to organize before getting started:

Do I need a pc or can I use my Mac?

Am I on the right track buying an r4i card and some micro Sd cards to try and set this up on 3ds?

Did I buy the right card to set up a 3ds that will be able to get Pokémon games as well as super MARIO and Zelda games? (I think I attached the pic)

Will I be able to set it up to play gb, gba, ds and 3ds games?

For the wii u, do I just need sd cards, an external hard drive and a copy of a downloaded compatible game?

Only the fromat for your SD card will be important. Fat32 is readable by Mac too (Sierra doesn't like Fat32)[/QUOTE]

Yes. R4i Gold Plus is quite good, especially with the NTRBOOT pre-installed.

looks like the right card. for the wii u you just need an sd card and a HDD. On the old 3ds i believe you can play older consoles but I think they have to be played through an emulator for the 3ds as opposed to the newer console playing them as virtual console games. Good thing you found this forum as everyone here is a huge help and you will be on your way to playing your backed up games in no time

No, hbl doesn't work on the latest fw for that purpose. Look into seed mining.

So, you answer unidrecteley to my previous question. You can't ONLY homebrew right now with the methods listed here? http://smealum.github.io/3ds/
I don't want for now to install CFW, I just want to install HBL in order to install lately RetroArch. But amongst all the method (Ocarina Of Time, FreakyForm, Cubic Ninja...) none is working with 11.6, because the game are not available anymore. Is Steel Diver hax works for now?

I have a new 3ds with "an error has occurred" problem.

I was able to get into recovery mode, connect to the internet, and update the console to the latest firmware.

I have an ntrboot flashcart, r4 3ds gold with ntr switch, that i've used to hack a console before. I cannot start the hack. I thought maybe the files were wrong or the button combination, but I tried it on my old 3DS and it worked.

I opened up the new 3ds and reseated the wifi cable. Just in case it was that weird error new 3DSs have with the wifi module.

3. Why is there no System Shock 1 port for the 3DS? I know that the game makes use of the mouse a lot, but can't that be remedied by either configuring for the touch screen, or even binding the N3DS 2nd circle pad?
4. Could it be possible to sourceport undertale to the 3DS?
5. Can .3dsx files still be played on a CFW 3DS, or is it better to stick to .cia files overall when not playing games on a physical cart?
