Hacking Are Private Card Dumps Safe for Online use?

Been reading about Nintendo's new ways to detect piracy and ban accounts. If I were to dump a game myself(rather than grabbing a rom that probably hundreds of other people are using) it should be theoretically safe to go online with that game then, right? Obviously using SX OS.

We don't know for sure. Nintendo can ban you just for use CFW or homebrew

Probably. But there's still a risk of getting banned. If you pirate games and play them online you'll have a ban sooner or later.

Theoretically using your own backup is safer, but nobody here can make any guarantees.

The only surefire way of staying 100% safe from a ban, is not to use homebrew or backups at all. Regardless of whether you are online or not.

Everything else is speculation.

Truth of the matter is we won't really know until the bans start getting handed out (and let's face it they will). Due anytime now in my eyes but didn't they say they removed the headers from the BBB dumps so you can't even go online?

In some cases people have managed to play online with BBB dumps, but it's a pretty surefire way of getting a ban sooner or later.

Best to create another user just for playing backups. Always keep your Switch on airplane mode before launching game

Funny that the username I used for piracy is "Useless". Anyway, it was just a suggestion. I'm still able to play online with my legit purchase of Splatoon 2. They might ban me some other day but we'll wait and see

It's not hard, but with a large SD it's much more convenient to digitize a library than carry several cartridges.

Because I (and others I'm sure) would rather not purchase the same game twice.

Plus a lot of people, myself included, would rather physically own a game they've purchased.
Hence why it wasn't bought from the eShop in the first place.

If you mean dumping your own games and running them online without the carts you might be okay but there's still risk involved. If you mean something like dumping your friends game and then playing online you're running a high risk of getting that ban hammer, maybe even for the both of you.

I'm gonna say it's low risk. You're using a unique header in this situation. As soon as I get mine, I'll be playing online with legit backups.

Depends on the method you're using, but someone already tested this with the SX OS and can't go online with their own private dumped XCI game. So that method may not be full proof or available for some time.
