Meanwhile, I'm thinking of doing the exact opposite. Tomorrow, I'll pull out a few broken/really outdated switches from our stock, put them on my boss's desk and say something in the lines of "I went through our supply of stock, and it doesn't look good. In order to stay competitive, I suggest you let me purchase the best and most popular switch on the market right now! "
