Switch Online subscribers can play Mario Tennis Aces free for limited time, with new "game trials"

Z6ceAhQ.png

Nintendo is rolling out a new idea to help make their Nintendo Switch Online service more appealing. Starting on August 7th, any current subscribers to NSO will be able to play Mario Tennis Aces for free, using Nintendo's newly introduced Game Trials. You'll be able to play as much of the game as you want until August 13th, in which the trial will end, and afterward, Nintendo will hold a 33% off sale for those interested in buying the game, following the week-long demo. Any progress you make in the Game Trial version of the game will be carried over to the full product, should you choose to purchase it. Currently, this deal has only been announced for the EU/UK, while Japan will be offering Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker as their first Game Trial title. There's no word on if this will be coming to North America yet.

Edit: North America will be getting this too.

I was gonna renew my subscription anyway unless I've been banned, haven't checked in a while >.>
This seems like a step in the right direction, too bad they'll probably never improve SSBU's online. I hope animal crossing works better otherwise I'll never pay for their service, no matter what they do.

No ones gonna talk about Nintendo trolling gamers yesterday? Their official YouTube channel had an announcement of mother trilogy for the Nintendo switch. Unfortunately at the end of the trailer, they revealed they were joking!
Do you have a link to the video? cause there's nothing like that on the official channel and first thing that came up when I goggled it was a fake trailer from a fake Nintendo channel.

reward your customers that pay premium for your shit online features with ....... wait for it.

a fucking demo.

at least sony and microsoft give you full access to games.

and what are the odds this is again nintendo thinking how they can boost sales of its old recycled shit titles, i know give a free demo, those that havent bothered playing it may like it and maybe buy it.

lets see if this will be like nintendo tv adverts where its only their old shit advertised all the time.

Going by Yr username I'd thought old shit be right up yr Street
old shit on the original consoles, like yes i love playing my nes.

what i dont like is buying a new console to find the same shit from all systems before, nintendo just recycle all the time.

now they reward its loyal fans that pay for a premium service and they get a sodding demo.

youd think yourd get a full game at least

They hav Nintendo hav set a challenge for you see if can finish Mario tennis in a week
lol its tight arse nintendo, recall the 3ds and its demo's, cunts that tight they made demos timed.

now tight cunts reward paying customers with yet again timed demo LOL

this company just gets worse and worse care more about how to print money that provide quality service.

saying that this is the same company that trains its customer service staff to tell customers nintendo do not have a complaints procedure so when you want to complain about your 3rd pair of joycons fucking up due to cheap production, your consumer rights are violated as your revoked from putting in a complaint.

Yep they wil reply back saying we are sorry you feel like this we want to make our customers happy pls accept this 5 pound eshop voucher
when i first reported faults with my switch when it launched (calm back then) the reply i kept getting off their customer service was this is a pr related matter and should forward my concern to them.

hmm okay.

the other day i was on live chat about the joycon faults already told the guy my system is on latest firmware, software is not the problem as it happens regardless if a game is running or not.

his reply.

as you refuse to perform the basic steps i will terminate the chat, and fucking terminated the chat.

the conversation started as

this is the 3rd pair i have gone through, i cant keep sending both back and you replace them with another pair that show the same faults within 6 months.

i am on latest firmware, software is not the problem because it happens even if a game is not working.

his first reply was the above and terminated the chat.

so yea i hate nintendo more than ever, then you see this "reward" for paying customers, its a piss take, come on board and we give you demo.

and the nintendo fans be like shut up, take my money already!! lol

I just subscribed today 'cause I like playing online from time to time so this came as a nice surprise. Nintendo can always do better of course, but for the price of the subscription, this is okay. Xbox Live and PSN cost much more, so they have to put more as well. I don't feel cheated in any way, it's a fair price. That also doesn't mean I don't want SNES and N64 classics in the future :P, I'd honestly pay more if they did that, and maybe they could include some Switch games, IDK. This is like renting Super Nintendo games from the VHS stores in the 90's, that's the way I look at it. It's a trial but you can enjoy the full game for the time, and potentially beat it. If you like it, you buy it at a discount and your saves are always there waiting for you. As far as prices for the games are concerned, I don't know much about Nintendo first party games but I recently grabbed few games from eShop for a "Steam Sale" comparable price. South Park TSoT was 14,79 €, SteamWorld Dig 2,99€ and Mutant Mudds Collection for 1,29€. They give about 30% off for first party games as I see, which is not amazing, but it's acceptable. The thing I like about Nintendo the most is that I always get what I want for the money. Nintendo Seal of Quality is there, and nothing can top it. I could buy PS4 or Xbox One at the cheaper price and get games for cheaper, but it doesn't fulfill my needs. I chose to buy Switch, I need that nostalgia feeling.

they're actually offering you less than in the past. In the past you didn't need to be a subscriber to enjoy trials wich have been a thing for years already and isn't anything new like they're claiming. Instead now they're locking it behind a paywall so in that regard they were offering you an entire arm before but are only giving you an hand now.

Yes and still locking option to have saves backup. I give them middle finger and refuse to pay for online (still p2p) and not wanna buy this thing, screw that it is cheapest option on market.
