Has anyone tried this tool between a CFW and OFW Switch.

Here are my findings so far:

I was able to successfully transfer an island of 1 profile player from a OFW to a CFW switch. The island started up successfully on the CFW switch.

I was not able to transfer an island of 8 profile players from a CFW to the same OFW that I could transfer out from. I would receive a "communication error" after selecting to proceed with the transfer in on the OFW.

I was not able to transfer back the island transferred out from the OFW back to the OFW from the CFW.

Anyone able to successfully transfer into a OFW?

This is wierd. I wonder how they know the system has CFW?

I always edited my town on my switch and played online all on the same console. It's very unlikely to get banned for just using a save manager

I tried two different switches with CFW. All three switches are on 10.2 and latest 1.60 of the game and all have the transfer tool installed.

I tried probably a dozen times between the two CFW switches to the OFW switch yesterday. This morning I thought I'd give it a go with a switch lite OFW. CFW to switch lite OFW went without an issue. Then I went back and tried a different CFW to the regular switch OFW and viola, decides to work today. Between yesterday and today I never even had rebooted any of the switches. Go figure.

I have my main island now on my Switch that has online, and working ok so far. I never hacked my island anyways. The first time I made any questionable change was modifying the BCAT yesterday for Turkey Day (I had not modified the BCAT prior)

Everyone is in b today, which triggers the toys being sold in the shop in build up to toy day.

It’s funny Nintendo developed this transfer tool for Legit OFW switches, but there is a problem. I tried to transfer an island between two OFW that were linked to the same account. The tool is considered a purchased game, even though free. So I could not run it on both switches when logged into the same account. I had to kill the internet connection on one of the switches to force it offline. Obviously you can’t simply go into airplane mode. In case anyone has this issue, you now know how to get around it.

You could use other profile, open the game with the main profile and use that, no need to suffer

Yes, I tried. It complained that the second profile would need to be a linked account to validate it could play the transfer tool. At that point, I couldn't be bothered anymore. The extra profiles on the device are only for ACNH and not associated with nintendo accounts.

I tried transferring over Eevee's island from HBG shop saves and the emporium and all that, when you go online on ACNH you get this error code . " 2219-4301 " this error code is not documented at all on nintendo side. Im thinking this island is actually a blocked island. Im trying now if i can even still connect on a normal island lol

Hbg is a repo ("freeshop") used by tinfoil to install games. Since hbg (name of the group dumping games) used to make preconfigured tinfoil to use their repo, alot of people got the name of the group/repo mixed up with the name of the application.

As for eevee saves. Someone named eevee, made 100%/modded saves, uploaded them to hbg repo (could be wrong bout where they were uploaded to) which then you could download and restore the save inside tinfoil

Anyone have any workarounds for moving a single profile (non-primary) to a secondary island? The typical Nintendo standard applies -- must be a linked account, must be online, must have two purchased of the game, must officially transfer the profile from one OFW to another OFW. Wondering if anyone figured out a way to "easily" transfer a single profile OFW <-> CFW via the easy style like the "transfer tool" provides -- dropping the linked account, online, and other anti-CFW standards.

Is there a way to quickly get back to an island on a switch that had it's island transferred off? The opening setup is annoying and time consuming. Restoring a backup via TinFoil doesn't accomplish this -- you need to go through the setup process. Likewise, JKSV doesn't list ACNH as a device save game to restore you last backup until you've completed the setup process.

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM

  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:

still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm

i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds

It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space

@rqkaiju2, Physical media is a great source for archiving your data, none of that cloud storage shiz.
