Hacking Rumor SX OS is not over

In order for me to give up SXOS, Atmos would need to be able to install games to the usb hdd at the minimum.
We have access to the usb hdd now in homebrew, so why not be able to install to usb.
It's not entirely just about xci loading, it's also about space and money!

You can't install things on usb hdd, only store XCI there, and XCI mounting software will probably never be available on free cfw because of legal issues.

XCI loading is kinda niche, tbh. Never really used even when I got the chance, since nsp games have better loading times.

you can convert xci to nsp with 4nxci, and there's a gui version. just need the keys. think it's up to 0b with the latest update, so games will probably start releasing with that key. I only know enough about switch stuff to convert, compress, rename, etc. games, no experience on the system itself though.

edit: if you put the folder in program files, remember to use the gui as administrator.

Or just install the XCI with Tinfoil + NUT

Don't be one of those guys. I for one have a 512 gb card, and I still use the XCI mounting on TV. You know, I am a retro player, so I like to have at hand my favorite N64, PS1, GBA and whatnot titles. And before you say, "you will not going to need X number of games at once!" Well, yeah, I do need them because when I carry my Switch out and I want to play my favorite CastleVania games, I don't want to be carrying the GBA to play them, or the N64 and plug it in a random place TV, or some shit like that. It's a wonder to have all your childhood games in one place and the newer ones too. Also, I have my favorite Halloween videos (yeah, I love Halloween, I used to have them on VHS) on the SD so I can see them whenever I want to. And, at home, I have my HDD ready to play on TV those games that I haven´t played or that simply are more enjoyable on the big screen. The thing is, it´s very helpful and practical to have all of this things on a game console. A shame that there is a "morality" war when we all can just enjoy all the treats that are given to us.

Anyway, does somebody know where can I grab the N64 core that runs Goldeneye? I have asked but those who have it don't share the location.

First of all when I say I wouldn't give up SXOS unless atmos gets hdd support for installing games to, is not me stating that Atmos needs to get xci mounting hdd support!
We know atmos will never add xci mounting suopport, so quit implying that!

I always wondered something about the legality making an opensource XCI loader. If I understand it correctly SXOS uses code from an original cartridge which is illegal.
Wouldn't it be possible to get this code on runtime from an inserted cartridge?

Not sure if this would work or if it would circumvent the legal issues, just curious ^^
