    Homebrew CTRTransfer Type D9 Shenanigans

Hey, so I made a grave error in trying to fix an issue. My friends 3ds has an SD card that was dying and swapped to read only. I copied everything in the folder to my computer and reset the console with a new SD. I made a large scale goof and overwrote the new system files with the saved older...

    Homebrew OPEN_AGB_FIRM discussion thread

Odd question, but on my mind. GBA injects utilize a bios per CIA file and per game. Since OAF loads them straight from the .firm file, where is the bios for this being stored? I tried checking the source on GitHub, but there aren't any .bin files aside from the save database, and the makefile...

    Hacking GBA Cart Adapter

That's quite true, although I think you might be missing the intention of this thread. I think I might be overthinking it. Rather than have the system read the pins directly from the cartridge, or a quasi-custom card slot rom interface, it could just be simple. If only there was a software on...

    Hacking GBA Cart Adapter

Good point. I was doing some more thinking about it, and realized that someone would have to make a chip in between the GBA and the card slot to do a mirage of things. You could have it translate the rom into a readable file in the same way you can read .app files within godmode9s file...

    Hacking GBA Cart Adapter

Hi there, I know this has been asked, but I just wanted to ask if this is even hypothetically feasible, whether or not if it's been made or programmed, which as of now it has not. As I understand it, the GBA couldn't be used on a DS slot 1 because the DS had much slower transfer speeds since...

    Arm exception with Minecraft

Hi there, I apologize for the odd message, but it'd really mean a lot to me for help. I seem to be having an issue where Minecraft keeps crashing due to arm11 exceptions. There seems to be a wide variety of things to be done that's posted out there such as clearing an extra data folder, changing...

    Homebrew Automatic DS Save Converter?

Hi there, just have a suggestion that some may quite like. Now I know that there is a technique for converting ds vs saves to regular ds saves, though this involves renaming extensions on the computer and removing and refreshing save states. Quite an extensive process for those who like to move...

Homebrew Misc Others Ape Ecape on the Loose Button Remap?

Hi there, I understand that on the loose has quite the undesirable button layout. Wouldn't it be possible to create a custom plugin that remembers the last button press (such as o) and when you move the right vita analog stick, it both moves the character in that direction as well as...

Homebrew TWPatcher - DS(i) mode screen filters and patches

Hey there, I have some questions regarding the limits of twl patching and editing, but I don't want to sound rediculous with some of the things I was wondering. Who can I ask about this? Should I just ask on here?

    Misc Vitadock + Vitagrafix Questions

Hey there, so I was about to jump into the vita scene again and use the vitadock plus plugin since it works with sharpscale. I know my end goal would be easier with a vita and a vita TV seperate, but I'd like the switch experience. I cannot figure this out for the life of me, but when...

    Misc IS-TWL-DEBUGGER GBA compatibility?

So just a thought if anyone has considered this. So moving on from this discussion about how the DSI cannot run GBA games: https://gbatemp.net/threads/how-about-running-gba-games-in-ds-mode-instead-of-emulating.332462/ This is due to the memory format requiring it to be loaded in it's entirety...

Homebrew The Wii U Homebrew Request Thread

So this is a bit of a long shot, but since the Wii U handles GBA and DS games so well, would there ever be a simple file converter app on the console side? With the DS for example, It extracts the save from the DS VC and renames it for you, and when importing the save it renames the file and...

Hacking Homebrew app [Request] Adhoc Save Transfer

Hey there, please feel free to move this if not allowed, but my technical skills on making homebrew is slim to none, and would it hurt to request or show an idea of a simple save game transfer tool over adhoc? This would be able to work with the ps tv and ps Vita as well to save time. Normally...

Hacking Questions about Adrenaline Save Files

Hi there, please feel free to move this if necessary. I was simply wondering how Adrenaline was able to read and understand that the psp files and saves were now located within a different location on the vita as opposed to the native psp structure. Normally the psp save location would be...

    Hardware PARTNER-CTR-CAPTURE DS Compatibility

Hi there, I was simply wondering if the Partner ctr capture device was simply a stripped down 3ds or if it was a full system with it's ds compatibility and the ability to play retail carts. I've tried looking on the developer portal but cannot find anything. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".

It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.
  • AncientBoi @ AncientBoi:
    I don't pirate them, I Use Them :mellow:. Like I do @BigOnYa 's couch :tpi::evil::rofl2:

  • cearp @ cearp:
@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
