    Not 100% true an edited infolib can fix double black screens and other booting problems.

    the patch at 0x000DF418 never gets loaded into memory, It dosent crash without it so i have concluded that it is not nessasary

    ohhh... you are nearly there with these codes but there is one problem, extinfo.dat uses the postion in the DS's memory, not the position in the rom to patch the game.
