Hardware How many of you here are actually mad that your 3DS has TN displays?

It's because TN displays are a thing of the past. Moreover, the DSi XL had dual IPS displays.

    Hardware N3DS XL SD backplate?

Provided it does snap off if you drop it, I'm not sure how you could lose such a big piece.

Hacking 3DS NOOB PARADISE - Ask questions here

I'm on 11.0 with A9LH and Luma3DS 6.5. In the settings it says "Sys 11.0.0-33E". Is it safe to update to the latest firmware?

Hacking 3DS NOOB PARADISE - Ask questions here

I haven't touched my 3DS in months: it's on A9LH v2 with Luma3DS v5.5.7 (I think) - What's the difference between A9LH v2 and v3? - Anything I should be aware of before updating A9LH, Luma or the system? - Did the new firmware updates (11.x) do anything?

    Hardware 'New' 3DS Backplate Mod?

Removing the screws completely works better than leaving them unscrewed.

Gaming Better DS games on New 3DS XL

DSi XL has dual IPS screens, and the larger screens reduce eye strain. All DS consoles have the same resolution so no matter the screen size everything will be equally detailed.

Gaming Why dont people like platformers as much?

The core gameplay is okay, but the level designs go from decent (the very first level) to terrible.

Hardware DSi XL or N3DS XL for DS Games

The DSi XL has dual IPS screens (or some technology with good viewing angles), with the N3DS XL it's a lottery. You can play games at full size without upscaling and blurriness as well. The N3DS Xl's buttons feel better but it isn't much of a big deal.

Hardware How to get a IPS Panel with this Method

My EUR (Aus) 3DS has an IPS screen, the manual ("operations manual including quick-start guide", Australian version) is only millimetres thick. If your IPS manual is thicker, then what does it have that the TN manual doesn't? More languages?

Hardware Any XL to N3DS switchers here?

I'm not bothered by the larger pixels of the XL, since both consoles have the same resolution so games are rendered with the same amount of detail. Does the regular N3DS have really wobbly ZL/ZR buttons, or is it just the XL? Mine is slightly wobbly.

Hardware Ask Nintendo to do something about the n3DS XL IPS vs TN Screen issue

If you've used a DSi XL before, you'd realise the 3DS's TN screens are a step back. The 3DS's cheapness should stand out anyway, since even the cheapest smartphones of today are much faster, more powerful and have much better screens. Cutting edge devices like the Galaxy S6 make the N3DS look...

Hardware Is my n3ds a IPS or...??

Yeah, it looks like an IPS screen. It shouldn't be hard to tell at all, if the colours don't dramatically wash out at an angle like the botton screen, it's IPS.

Hardware Is my n3ds a IPS or...??

Looks like an IPS screen, if you still aren't convinced use a sharper angle and change the theme to pink.

Hardware O3DS is better than N3DSXL

The O3DS XL had a better SD card location. On the N3DS XL, it is not only difficult and inconvenient to remove, but the thin plastic backplate feels like it will easily break, especially at the flashcart slot.

Homebrew Cia install failed multiple times.

Are you sure your card's actual capacity is 32 GB? You can use h2testw to confirm it. I ran into CIA installation problems after my "64 GB" card used up its real capacity of 5.6 GB.
