Hacking NOOB PARADISE - ask away

So I'm looking to get a fresh start with Wii hacking once more. I just dug up this old GBATemp account and I used to be into the whole Wii hacking scene years back. I just pulled my Wii out of the closet and plugged it in, after it had been sitting for years. Right now it has a WBFS formatted...

Hacking WiiFlow - an open source GUI USB-Loader

I'd just like to show my appreciation once again for all of the the coders and themers who take part in creating this masterpiece of a loader! Definitely the best one out there IMO. And thanks for deciding to stay committed to this project Benjay. I've been using Carbonik from the start and...

Hacking WiiFlow - an open source GUI USB-Loader

So where does Wiiflow list it in the .ini? I listed it alphabetically under [GENERAL] when i added it to my wiiflow.ini.

Hacking WiiFlow - an open source GUI USB-Loader

I've done that already. I manualy added returnto=WFXF to my wiiflow.ini and for some strange reason it isn't working for me. It just takes me back to the Wii Menu when I exit a game... I know for sure that I have the correct channel ID for my forwarder and I'm using r43.

Hacking WiiFlow - an open source GUI USB-Loader

The return to channel patch isn't working for me... Its purpose is to return to Wiiflow after you exit a game by pressing Home and Wii Menu, correct? I added returnto= to wiiflow.ini under [GENERAL]. WFXF is the channel ID for Narolez's forwarder and I put that in for my channel ID. How can I...

Hacking WiiFlow - an open source GUI USB-Loader

Agreed. I'm using WBFS on a salvaged 80 gig hard drive with a 2gb SD card and everything has always worked great.

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
    +1
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm

  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space

  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@rqkaiju2, Physical media is a great source for archiving your data, none of that cloud storage shiz.
